First Gamewide Plot

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Hi, everyone, it's Zehava. I know that over the last two weeks we've discussed the very first gamewide plot in AIM chat, but I am aware that there are people who were unable to make it to said chat. As such, I will be posting the outline for the gamewide plot today, which will give everyone until Wednesday at midnight GMT to make plans and decisions on where and how to play their characters. At present, the gamewide is set to run for a month, although if may be lengthened if it is not completely resolved in that time.

To run down the particulars:

Darth Caedus will use the Force to bring infected survivors to the airlock inside of New Hope's Industrial Zone. This will be part of a Sithly plot gone awry. These infected survivors are basically people resistant to the virus that destroyed the outside world, and will be hostile NPCs. They will successfully breach the outer door of the airlock first. At this point, evacuation orders will be issued to all players to return to their quarters. The Residential Building will lock down, preventing exit of anyone inside. The building will be put on emergency lighting and its self-contained air filtration system will become active, as will its interior ration bar dispenser.

The players will be presented with a choice. They can either go to the Residential Hall and wait, or they can go to the Industrial Zone to fight off the intruders. Before the second, and final, set of doors to the airlock are blown off, they will encounter Darth Caedus, who will direct them to the NBC suit lockers. These suits will be a requirement for anyone who decides to fight off the invaders, so keep in mind the potential drawbacks your characters may suffer inside the suits, as well as the reduced maneuverability and vulnerability.

Once the second set of doors on the airlock are breached, the Industrial Zone will be sealed off from the rest of the city, thereby creating two spheres of action. One will be the tension back at the Res Building as people are incommunicado, and the other will be the tension in the conflict zone. Please realize that once you decide where to put your characters, they are there for the duration.

Now then, those inside the Industrial Zone have four priorities, which are as follow:

1) eject the infected outsiders from the Industrial Zone
2) attempt to manufacture a replacement airlock
3) after cleaning out all those who will be shooting at our players, install new air lock
4) activate filtration systems in the Industrial Zone to clean out the air and let everyone back into the rest of the city

How the characters proceed to accomplish these objectives are up to them. During the course of this plot, several buildings will be put at the disposal of the players in the Industrial Zone. These will be a warehouse that will have equipment capable of producing ration bars (to avoid starving our brave defenders to death), a factory with the raw materials to produce a new airlock, a building with the equipment to install the new airlock, and back-up systems to begin a massive purge of the atmosphere of the sealed-off Industrial Zone and repressurization with uncontaminated air. Again, however, these things will not be immediately available to the characters, and will have to be located in between fighting off hostile attacks from infected invaders.

Out of consideration for the characters involved in battle, the warehouse will be air-tight, thereby allowing them a place to take off the suits for a bite to eat and a breather, though not much of one as the warehouse will not have a filtration system. The invaders will be armed with AK-47s, Molotov cocktails, and whatever other weapons they've salvaged. If there are any questions, or if you are uncertain about any detail, please ask! That's what mods are here for. Anyway, looking forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday!
