I know I should have posted this yesterday, but things were rather busy. And then there was a food coma. Or two.
I'm British, so I don't celebrate Thanksgiving. Still, I appreciate the sentiment behind it.
I'm thankful for my family. Although thousands of miles separate us, they are seldom far from my heart.
I'm thankful that I chose to become an instructor. It was expected that I follow into the family business, but instead I chose a different path. I have found teaching to be profoundly fulfilling on many levels, and I enjoy mentoring bright young minds. It's a joy all around.
I am thankful for the two young ladies I chose to mentor, Meredith and Hannah. They're clever, brilliant, so hard-working. I could never fault their work ethic. They will go far in their chosen fields.
I have many, many things for which I'm grateful and thankful, but I'll spare everyone. I hope everyone has a lovely weekend. |

To those students who participated in the costume and presentation day, my sincere thanks. You were all wonderful. I appreciated the effort you extended, and everyone presenting will get extra credit points. I found myself surprised by the variety of literary sources; I had honestly expected a concentration in Victorian subjects. But the sources ranged from Sappho to Twilight that egregious piece of shite--and thank you, Mr. Reinbold, for cleaning up your glitter after your presentation.
This is, quite honestly, one of my favourite activities of the year. Again, thank all of you for making it such a success.

As a reminder to my students, tomorrow is costume and presentation day in all my classes. This is entirely optional though participants will receive extra credit for their efforts. Let's make this a fun and educational time for all, shall we?
