Who: Open to Camelot and Friends (BYOT)
When: Thanksgiving (Event happens at 5:45pm)
Where: Avalon

The Gym was decorated with holiday decor and tables and chairs had been set out in rows. A long table at one end was reserved for the King and Queen and their Knights of the Round (opposite them at the same table their families sat). Along the far walls food was served cafeteria style with lower knights and squires helping to dish out food before getting their own plates and taking a seat. A few of the community partook of food and left, but many took seats and stayed. The King's son could be seen helping by handing people corn or a small cob of corn for a while until he was replaced and he joined his father at the table.

Once everyone had been served (some had already started eating as a lot of people were fed there was no kibosh on eating early), the King and Queen stood to give welcome and thanks for everyone joining. A reminder was given to everyone to stay safe and if anyone wanted company on the way home they just had to find a knight and ask.

At 5:26pm Lancelot received a text about possible Cybermen in the territory. The team said they'd report in when they knew more, and when asked if they needed back up didn't believe it necessary at that point. Arthur and Guinevere were informed and the three of them started to make arrangements for a larger patrol that night.

At 5:45pm one of the squires came in, sheet white and reported to Arthur and Guin that something was happening outside. When the two, along with Lancelot (and unfortunately others who were curious what was happening), went outside they saw their four man patrol strung up on light posts that lined the walkway leading to Avalon's front door. And they were burning.

As promised, Zel had arrived at Avalon with Mickey, Mickey's mom and Merr. Her natural hair was short and slicked back as she wore a fitted black dress. Eyes glossed because there was no way she was going to attend this dinner sober. When Morgan greeted her, she smiled, kissed the boys head and let him run off to help where ever he could. Her attention came back to Mickey, who was walking towards the Queen with his mom. She smirked.

"Breath Is all she said to Merr as she took his hand and walked around. Of course, people stared at them for the moment, mainly because they knew she was with Jason. But Merr was her best friend. She wasn't going to not be herself around him.

{I am Breathing.} He thought, as they moved down the line to get their food. {I didn't realize how many kids would be here.} Merrit didn't, not like kids. He just didn't spend time around them. It sort of made him feel uncomfortable. Probably due to an irrational fear that whatever drove his father was in him too. It wasn't, but that's why they call fears irrational.

Cat and Open - Pre-dinner

Things had been quiet in Catrina's life outside of keeping on high alert ever since the night that she had helped rescue Morgan from the Cybermen. Granted, she wasn't much help. She froze up when she watched her King kill those men just to ensure that they were able to safely save his son. Her first and foremost priorities in life were to protect and honor her kingdom. She wasn't about to change that any time soon.

She was lowering her guard that day, though. Everyone that she cared about was right there in the room with her, or right outside the door, keeping watch. Cat could put Marion away for the night. However, she couldn't completely "let her hair down". Her entire family was there. In fact, her mother had done a lot of the work in the kitchen. This left both Cat and her younger sister to work on setting up the table for everyone. She had found a short, yet elegant blue floral dress to wear for the dinner. Just because her parents and older brother were going to be close by, that didn't mean that she couldn't look cute. As the sisters were working together, they discussed which of the boys that they thought were cute. However, as they reached the last few place settings, Cat began to crave intelligent conversation.

Cybermen attack
[info]elliotmcmillan
2018-11-21 11:15 pm UTC (link)
One thing Elliot knew, was that things would never change with Camelot. They would always hold their Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners at Avalon. Which meant barely any men would be patrolling, because they would all be inside eating and having a good time. Which meant, Elliot and his men would be able to sneak in with minimal eyesight. Though, Elliot wanted his men to be seen. He wanted the King and Queen to come out. It was the whole point of sending a message.

"I want you two to take the right, you two take down the middle and you two take the back. Grab as many as you can without being seen." He informed the men the plan and where to go. Once they spread out, Elliot came to a stand. Eyes looking around the area. An area he once used to run through and protect. That is until they denied him the right to be King... And really add that with the knowledge that Morgan was Jason's son, it was all too good to let pass up.

Elliot always made sure to have his entire body covered in black. Leaving no trace of who he was. What fun would that be? Still, as the party went on, Elliot moved closer to the building, looking at the poles that lead tot he entrance of Avalon. A wicked thought came to mind, once his men came dragging the four men who struggled. "String em' up." Is all he said as each one had their mouths pried open and their tongues cut out.

Flammable grease was smeared all over them as they struggled. Each one gagged so they couldn't scream. All that was left was the fire show. So when the squire ran into the building, Elliot would signal his men to start the fire. Each body would light up in flames and the men would be gone, Elliot off in the distance as he watched the King and Queen, and Knight try to get things under control.

And with that, the message was sent and the men were gone.

Jason's plan once the bodies are found
[info]jasonpenn
2018-11-21 10:29 am UTC (link)
It was a split moment, a single second where Jason was afraid, confused and lost. But in that moment the King took over. He turned to Guin and Lancelot, seeing the crowd that was coming out he knew they had to act fast. "Es, get everyone back inside. We don't need any of the kids seeing this. Ty, go grab some men to help get our guys down. I'll text Kaye and Robin, we need to do a search of the park before anyone leaves- I don't want anyone being jumped on their way home." He then turned to the squire who looked like a deer in headlights. "Ken, hey... stay with me. Go grab the fire extinguishers. We have to put our guys out." The kid nodded and ran. Jason quickly sent off his texts as he managed to keep himself contained, wanting instead to go out himself to find out who did this.

Officer Riley Conners was bored, tired, and in dire need of a drink. If not something stronger. Still the man was officially on duty for the moment; having been sent to deliver the charitable donations that had been collected by the NDPD, and more then a few local government officials. Every time the holidays rolled around a public show was made, credits gathered and sent to the organization that Camelot's crew ran. For his part Digger had more stops to make before his night was over, though those weren't nearly as official as what brought him to Avalon tonight. On the surface the cop was a decorated veteran, and an upstanding member of the city too. However anyone connected to the gangs knew just how dangerous the corrupt officer really was. Still in a city at war Dig was one of the few truly neutral players on the stage. Working with every major gang, and yet holding allegiance to himself alone.

Some viewed the killer for hire with disgust. Others with an appreciative eye when it came time to make corpses disappear. Yet as he stood there, watching the chaos unfold and the body burning so brightly, most seemed far to preoccupied to really notice Conners at all. He wasn't family. Wasn't part of their Arthurian based community. The man was simply an observer, who kept to himself for the moment as he took it all in. Oh peace was good for business. The truce between the major gangs had provided Dig with the chance to earn some serious credits. Yet in truth war was equally profitable as well, if not even more so. After all, being able to safely pass between the zones without worry over being attacked was a rare thing in this time of strife. A rare thing that the cop knew how to use to his advantage. For now though transporting goods, gear, or guns wasn't needed. So those cold piercing eyes of his merely drank in the sight of the dead on fire, before stepping close to Jason to quietly speak up.

"I'd avoid using water or even extinguishers to put em out. From the burn rate, and intensity of the heat coming off them, it looks like a flammable chemical compound was smeared on the corpses to keep em burning hot. If your boys wrapped em in flame retardant blankets it should be enough to smother the fire without risking spreading it further."

"Ken." He said to the boy before he ran off. The squire nodded, having heard what the officer said. "And hurry." Jason gestured to some squires who were looking at their King in shock. "You five, go help him." He barked the order and the teens hopped to. Jason took a breath and turned back to face his men... burning. "Thanks." He said flatly to Riley.

On the outside Jason was calm, composed, an example of leadership for his community. But a good look into his eyes saw a fire raging of fear, anger, sorrow and rage. Someone had come into his land and killed his men. But not only that, they'd disrespected them, made them a centerpiece like a show. His fist clenched at his side. He didn't know who it was, but he was certain they were covered in Chrome.

Others cleared out from around him, having gone about tasks assigned to them. Riley the only one remaining near him, Jason spoke softly but clear enough for the officer to hear. "This is my fault, we're in a cycle and it has to stop. This is something we need to handle in house." He said, pulling out his phone. He tapped a few buttons and sent some credits to the account set up for transfers to Digger. "I assume that should be more than enough to secure appropriate death certificates, and keep things out of the books." He sent a list of names for the certificates.

Beyond the flicker of flames reflecting in his gaze there was nothing seen in the way of emotions there in Digger's eyes, or etched across his face. Well nothing but perhaps just the faintest hint of genuine boredom. The man had seen too much death in his lifetime; had been the cause of more lives lost then most folks could even fathom as well, to find the sight of a few burning bodies to be disturbing. Even as the others moved with haste to obey their leader's command, the cop remained so very still right there beside Jason. Seemingly like an immovable stone amid a raging gale.

Beyond the slightest tilt of his head Riley offered nothing more as Arthur spoke. After all this cycle wasn't one of woe for the officer with long since blood stained hands. If anything all the conflict merely served as an opportunity to profit from. So if the boy king wished to bear the burden of guilt that truly wasn't his....well it suited Conners well enough. However when a job was presented real interest began to grow, and with a nod of his head Dig pulled out his device to check over the list of names. "Consider it done. By the time they reach the morgue your men's info will be removed from all public record and the death certificates will be dealt with."

Making people disappear was a skill he had honed and mastered over the years. Sometimes it took destroying all physical traces of a corpse, but sometimes all that was needed was a bit of paperwork altered as well. "I may have come across a shipment the other day that could be of interest to you. A crate of 'items' that can't be traced back, and more then a few cases of modified armor piercing rounds too...the sort of thing that tend to make short work of metal covered objects. Say the word and I'm sure the goods could find their way into your possession within the hour. If such a thing was of interest to you, Jason."

"I will not seek out quarrel with those outside my community." He said softly, remembering the oath he'd made. Jason had talked Tadhg down from revenge when his wife and daughter had been killed. How much of a hypocrite was he that all he wanted to do was take his army into the Red and end the threat once and for all? Diggers offer was tempting. He could justify the need for self defense. While Camelot didn't have rules against cybernetics- some members had them. They weren't revered like the vat-jobs did and most of Camelot was upgrade free (outside of social standards of course). Therefore, weapons that would put them on even footing was a necessity, right?

Jason watched as the squires started to put out the fire and cut down their friends. "They were still kids." He shook his head. "Seniors... all volunteered to work the meal so others could enjoy." Jason knew all the subjects of Camelot, and many in the community at large. But those he taught, he worked side by side with he knew. He made it a point to know them. If he asked them to go out and fight for him... he felt an obligation to know. Each of the men killed he knew their names, hobbies, best school subjects, their parents... they all actually had families. His nose wrinkled slightly as he knew he'd have to deliver the news. "Name your price." He said flatly. His men would be able to protect themselves. No one would die because they weren't properly prepared next time.

Of all the phrases in the English language 'name your price' was by far one of his favorite. Supply and demand was always the way of things; whether one was peddling drugs, weapons, sex, or even selling hope for a brighter future like Arthur was offering to the disenfranchised and down trodden. There would always be a need for something, and Riley had made his fortune meeting a wide array of needs. The man didn't care about the community, or about Camelot's rules. He didn't care about the dead boys still burning like bonfires just a few feet away. Credits were all that mattered to the broken man...credits and the power and freedom that they could secure for him.

Oh he had a soft spot, a sliver of a weakness in that normally unfeeling heart of his. A weakness for children who had been tormented and hurt, who had endured abuse like he had when Conners was a child. That lingering trace of humanity certainly worked it's way into some of his dealings too. Especially with Jason and Camelot since they offered refuge to the kids Dig brought in off the street. Still beyond the occasional donation, or steeply discounted rates, the cop tended to place business above almost everything else. So when Arthur said that magical phrase, an almost wolfish grin tugged slightly at the man's lips.

However a moment later the officer responded at last, completely genuine as he spoke. "Name my price, eh? Very well then...you'll have the goods, free of charge. Count it as a Thanksgiving donation, Jason. Though I expect a decent bottle of something strong when you mail me your Christmas card this year." Without saying another word the cop turned his focus to his device again, pausing to type in a few things before finally nodding to himself. "It's done. Four dozen untraceable and state of the art automatic rifles, and five hundred cases of armor piercing rounds, will be dropped off within the hour for you and your boys." Oh on the street such a shipment of weapons could've gone for a tidy profit, but Digger had no problem giving them away to Jason for free. After all it was an investment. A way to keep the conflict not just going, but also to help escalate matters even more. Giving away guns to one side, offering to sell armor to another...the cycle would just keep spinning away; all while Digger secured himself a decent spot near the center, always safely navigating the waters of neutrality too, while earning himself a sizable sum of credits.

It was strange when the killer had a heart. Though Jason didn’t like to be in debt he also didn’t have a ton of time to worry about it at that moment. “Always good doing business with you.” He nodded to the officer. “If you’ll excuse me.” Jason turned and hurried over to help the young men pull their friends from the light poles. One of them had already run off and got sick in the grass. This was not something he was grateful for.

Small talk and pleasantries had never been the cops strong suit, so when Jason excused himself Digger merely offered a final nod of his head. Truth be told Riley had half expected this night to be filled with tedious exchanges, but already he had lined up a new job for the night and managed to help further his own goals as well. After taking a final glance around the scene as things unfolded before his eyes, Conners finally turned around and casually strolled back inside. Oh he paused to grab a delicious looking treat or two from the abandoned plates and tables, yet when that was done the cop decided to move on. Still so many places to be, and stops to make too, before he could call it a night.

Once Esme and Jason were told to look at something, what came next was like a movie. She watched as her men were burning, the smell alone was horrible. "On it." Was all Esme said as she started moving others back into the building. "Let's get everyone back inside." She said in a stern tone as she made sure none of the children, especially Jason son would see what was happening outside.

Once everyone was inside, Esme would look to those knights and squires around. "No one leaves alone. Anyone who does go home is to be escorted by two people. Take them home and come straight back." She said as those around nodded and went to check on the others.

A heavy sigh escaped her lips, she was pissed. But she had to make sure everyone was okay. Before she and Jason talked about what steps to take next.

Esme/Mickey

Mickey had a great time at the dinner. He had been a welcome guest, along with his mother, and it was quite honestly the first time in a long time that either of them felt like they belonged. When the King and Queen were alerted of something being afoot he exchanged a look with Zel. They both knew that things weren't good between the red and white, but it wasn't like they chose to fall in love with who they did.

He told his mother to stay with the Kennedys, who assured her that she would be OK and he excused himself before helping to get the children as far away as possible, getting the older ones who knew that there was something going on to start an activity to keep the younger ones distracted for as long as they needed to be. Mickey may not have been their leader, but they listened to them all the same.

Once the children were secure, Mickey made his way to the front door. As he opened it, the smell overwhelmed him. The beautiful aromas of the turkey dinner couldn't even get rid of what was now presented to him. He frowned, knowing exactly who the victims were. He didn't have to know them by name, he had seen how young they were and how nice they were when they had greeted him and his mother when they walked in. It was senseless, but it was also war. One that he was simply an ally in, but there were certain lines that should never be crossed, even in cases of war.

He found Esme and walked over to, bringing an arm around her and kissing her temple. "I'd be willing to launch a cyber attack after this," he shook his head, looking over to the sheets. He let the door close once more and held his girlfriend close. He knew that ultimately, this was Jason's call, but in his mind, things weren't any different than they had been a few months ago when he had offered his services.

From the distance, she watched as Jason and Digs exchanged words. And as Mickey approached she watched the officer leave, giving her a slight nod of his head. Politely she returned it just as Mickey kissed her temple. A sigh escaped her lips once he pulled her into a close embrace. "That's up to Jason." She replied as she came to look at him. Pulling away slightly as she exhaled.

It wasn't because she didn't want to be in his arms, but more so she was in Queen mode right now. "Without any evidence of who did this" Despite them knowing who it was. "We can't form any attacks off assumptions, we need proof on who it was before we can strike."

Slowly she shook her head as she kissed him quickly. "Thank you though... Right now, that means a lot to us.. To me."

Everything seemed to be going well, and then it wasn't. One of the boys was running over to Jason and Esme, and soon they were off. Zel tried to follow, but whatever happened outside had Esme coming inside quickly and already barking orders. Zel wasn't part of Camelot, so she couldn't really tell her what to do. After making sure Morgan was okay, she made her way outside.

The first thing she saw was bodies being put out and Jason talking to Digs. When the men were done and Jason was done helping one of the boys she stepped a little closer. "...Jason.." She called out slightly as she watched him, and the horrific scene around her.

This was the last thing she wanted to see while high.

When he saw Zel exit the building he was pulling the blanket over the last of his men. He was getting updates on his phone from the boys searching the park. No sign of the responsible parties. He moved over to Zel and put his arms around her while turning her around so she was facing away from the scene. “You should have stayed inside.” He whispered as he kissed her forehead. He was supposed to protect her, his people. This was not meant to happen.

She came to look at him as she grabbed his hands for him to focus on her "Talk to me. When he suggested Zel take Morgan home, she didn't argue. Or even argue over a knight or two following them. All she could do was kiss his cheek. "Don't be too late." Is all she said as she moved away from Jason and started heading back to the building to get Morgan
