When she'd first heard the message, it hadn't made any sense. She had known they were fine. She'd spent several minutes looking at her phone before she'd shrugged and gone back to doing what she'd been doing before getting it. It wasn't until a few hours later when she turned on the TV that she accidently saw the news that what had happened hit home.
The shots of the wreckage caused her to freeze before quickly turning it off. She forced herself to breathe, remembering that she'd gotten that message. He said he was fine but then... where were they? Somewhere in Pennsylvania? What had caused them to crash? And why was she supposed to keep her head down? Had this been some kind of corporate business thing? Would he have said anything if he or Carol were injured? They were both experienced pilots. She knew they knew how to put a plane down in an emergency! Having seen the footage... how did they walk away from that?
Talking a breath, She picked up her phone and clicked one of the speed dial numbers she'd programmed. She wasn't sure if he was going to pick up, but right now? She needed help. She didn't know if they could find them or not. Knowing her dad, if he was keeping his head down the odds were they'd have problems doing it. He was extremely thorough about stuff... She waited until the ringing stopped, getting the voicemail. It was better than nothing. Waiting for the beep she swallowed and started recording. "Clint? It's Cissie... um... give me a call when you get this. I need your help with something. It's important. Thanks," her voice seemed a bit hollow. Of all the things she'd expected tonight, this wasn't it.
Hanging up, she sat down in the armchair again and listened to the message her dad had left again. Maybe there'd be some clues in it? He'd told her to keep her head down... something about that left her ill at ease.
