There had been no notice given. No note sent. She didn't know if someone had dropped the ball or if whichever senior agent was handling this case just didn't want there being any leaks. Either way, when the agent had wandered into their lab, they had only been able to shout a quick warning to duck before the gelatinous substance they were testing - which they were calling Flubber after the film - bounced off the wall and came that close to hitting him in the head.
Once the agent had recovered from the near miss - not that Jemma really blamed them. How often did you come face to face with a ball of bouncing green gelatinous substance that was coming straight at you. Nowhere other than a movie - she and Fitz had been told that they needed to gather their equipment, especially the medical equipment. There was apparently a patient that needed some kind of attention. Jemma of course had asked why they hadn't approached the medical staff but was told tat it wasn't that sort of attention that was needed.
And so she and Fitz were escorted through HQ to the private elevator bank which they couldn't access under normal circumstances. Except apparently for today. So this couldn't be normal. Getting to their destination, there were several other black-suited agents standing around and Jemma was looking to try and see who was the Agent-in-Charge, but her attention was caught by the sight of a small person - a child? - sitting in the cell in front of them. She'd been in these cells before, but it had been months ago.
"I'm sorry," she said speaking up, holding her medical kit a bit tighter in her hand. "Can someone please explain to me why there is a child sitting in the secure holding area?"
