If the best work didn't involve farmers crushed under horses and cowboys shooting each other in a saloon, anyways. Sometimes, there was nothing to be done but dose them well with ether and call a priest, no matter what religion they claimed.
Mr. Murdock did have a way of pulling up a chair, and Blake was grateful enough for the reprieve. "On my feet, yes, and technically with patients," he admitted. "One of my long outstanding bills offered partial payment, and I had to go to him to pick it up. And then drag the damn goats back to my office," he said with a small wince. "If they get into yours, I'll sell them to you as recompense," he offered - and just a little hopefully.
