Re: Dinah and Hill
That made her laugh and she didn't bother to hide it. She'd been young and eligible once too, she knew what kind of trouble girls that age could be (and get into), but that didn't mean it wasn't amusing to witness it from the opposite side.
"If you're going to grab any girl, you're going to have to work on your compliments." She advised, shaking her head but not without humor. With his looks and clean-cut face (really, she hadn't seen a man that closely shaved in years), it was no wonder the mother hen was trying to lure him into dancing with one of her chick-a-dees- and on the flip side, he seemed like the kind of fellow that would have no trouble finding a number of girls willing to settle down when he was ready.
Which, clearly, was not tonight.
"I'd hope so, but I'm afraid there'll be no knowing until I see him again at the Pearly Gates." She said and though her expression was kind, she kept a close eye on his reaction. It was one thing to talk to a woman- even a married woman- in public like this, but she wouldn't begrudge him if he decided dancing with a widow was too much of a scandal even for his tastes.
"You'll get a reputation, dancing with women like me." She explained carefully, unwilling to let a nice young man get himself in trouble without knowing full well the consequences of his actions.
