All The Boys Can't Always Save The Day...
Who: Black Canary, Oracle, Lady Blackhawk, The Huntress?
What: The Birds of Prey thwart a would be mob hit-- and make a new friend.
Where: Infantino Parkway, Gotham City, NJ
When: Saturday, April 7th, night time
Rating: Probably safe for work. Maybe. Let's go with R for safety's sake. You never know what is going to come out of Zinda's mouth.
"I'm in position." Black Canary reported to Oracle through her microphone choker and speaker earrings. She was waiting astride her motorcycle down one of the back alleys that crossed with Infantino Parkway- one of Gotham's main thoroughfares. From Infantino Parkway, you could get from Midtown all the way Uptown and- by veering left at the bridge- off of the islands completely and out into the rest of New Jersey. While it wasn't the jugular of Gotham's transit system, Infantino Parkway was definitely a vital artery. Which was exactly why the Feds had chosen to take this route from their safehouse in Midtown where they had been housing Maria Molinelli until she could be transferred into the Witness Protection Program.
Mrs. Molinelli (soon-to-be Ex-Mrs. Molinelli) had turned State's evidence after coming home early one Saturday afternoon to find her husband, Alberto Molinelli, executing a mob hit in the basement of their quaint townhome.
Now, seeing how the organized crime rings in Gotham (numerous as they were), didn't take so kindly to people tattle-taling on them; Soon-To-Be-Ex Mrs. Molinelli had become the center of quite a bit of attention from all the wrong kinds of people-- the wrong kinds of people that Oracle kept an eye on. The exact same wrong kinds of people who had been planning to have poor Soon-To-Be-Ex Mrs. Molinelli suffer a tragic car accident on the way to Witness Protection, tonight.
Naturally, once that little bird made it to Oracle's ear, Oracle had sent their own little birds out to make sure that Soon-To-Be-Ex Mrs. Molinelli lived long enough to be Ms. Maria Schbatski once again.
As the Feds black Lincoln towncar (it was always a blank Lincoln towncar; you'd think they'd have learned by now...) rolled past, Black Canary rolled out behind them, keeping her bike four car lengths behind them at all times- and ready to zip in between the lanes of traffic should the need present itself.
