It Got Real Who: Miguel O'Hara & Greer Grant Where: New York City, NY When: Saturday, May 4th, 2013 (backdated, and immediately following Lex Luthor's bastardly presidential address) What: Lex Luthor steps up the registration drama. Luckily, Miguel has a plan. Unluckily, Greer gets there first. Rating: Probably high, due to a fight scene involving a boyfriend and girlfriend.
His suspicions were confirmed: President Luthor's public address wasn't even remotely about Star Wars Day.
With every word, Miguel's teeth grit, and his fists clenched just a little more. The grace period was at an end, so anyone who hadnt registered would be hunted. And he had a feeling that would be quite a few people, himself included.
That was fine; he'd prepared for this. He hit send on an e-mail effectively resigning from his position as Baxter Building geneticist. PS: Don't come looking for me, the last words in the e-mail read.
He carried all of the possessions he needed in a small backpack: a few changes of clothes, toiletries, USB drives full of his research (he'd deleted all the other copies), and of course his Spider-Man costume.
Closing the door, he was effectively moving out of his New York apartment. Sure, he didn't exactly notify any utilities or landlords, but his current identity was dropping off the map. By the time anyone came knocking on the door, he'd be vapor. He had another apartment set up under an an alternate identity that would be much more low-key than the current one.
Goodbye, Miguel O'Hara; hello, Antoine Tarantella. Sure, it was a reference to his former fiancee's childhood friend who'd mutated into a Man Spider in 2099, but it was a reference no one would get, because he hadn't even told that story to Greer.
He just hoped he could vanish before Greer found him.
