Who: Rose Wilson and Jubilation Lee Where: Chinatown, NYC When: Evening, April 22 What: Rose wants comfort food just like her mom used to make it. She runs into a firecracker. Rating: PG-13, language, etc.
This is what happens when you're 18-years-old and live on your own. Your life becomes a never-ending search for food that's not macaroni and cheese or grilled cheese or other variations on cheese. Not that Rose minded those foods; she loved them, but four times in one week was one time too many.
Plus, she didn't have any dishes left to make food. Those were all dirty or lost somewhere in the mess of her apartment.
And that's why Rose was out in Chinatown tonight. She was hungry for some comfort food, really, something that would remind her of her mother. And, even though it was more of a dessert, she ordered mango sticky rice (actually it was "mango sticky rice yum yum"). And of course, as soon as she tried to pull out a cigarette, the owner ordered her outside. No smoking in NYC restaurants anymore, she fumed. She took her Styrofoam container of mango sticky rice yum yum outside and leaned against a brick wall, right next to a tub of turtles.
