Who: Cissie King-Jones and Emma Frost What: Discussions of protests and politics When: Monday, April 22 2013, Just before 3:00 Where: Emma's office, Hawthorne Academy Why: Trying to get a staff member to help with this project.
It seemed that all anyone was talking about was the press conference on Saturday. In class, outside of class, the news stations were analyzing it. And of course coverage was being compared to the Fantastic Four press conference only a week or so before... After a while there was only so much that Cissie could take of the pundits and talking heads. It was the big story! And it was one reason that Cissie found herself standing outside Ms. Frost's office now that her classes had gotten out for the day.
The more she heard the more she was certain that this was the right route to take. She'd filled out the paperwork for the permit for the protest, but she wasn't going to get it until the first several days of May, which she hoped wouldn't be too late... But these things took time! And time was not necessarily something she had.
While Patsy had said that she'd be there, since she was organizing this first on campus (she'd been contacted by another group who was also trying to put together a protest and had sort of combined forces, but needed individual permits anyway. Who knew there was so much paperwork involved!), she'd taken the opportunity to seek out the teacher that had been talking about it the most. She had the papers with her, and all there was to do now was to knock on the door. Which she did, before waiting to hear that she could come in, and sticking her head ithrough the door looked around.
"Hey Ms. Frost?" She paused for a moment, biting her lower lip. "Do you have a few minutes? There's something I wanted to talk to you about." If she could get the teacher's involvement maybe it would help! Thankfully she didn't have a time limit. After this she was just heading back to the dorms, and then out for the night!
