Bruce's annoyed/angry look was about what he expected. "I came in this way because it was the only way I could. You have this very good way of locking every single person out who wants to help you." And he gave Bruce's scowl a sad frown in reply. "It's not a good trait."
Clark elected not to respond to the jab about Kryptonite. Bruce had one of every variety, and for an important reason. It was to ensure that Clark never became unstoppable. Great power didn't mean it was always used for good. Things changed, but it didn't mean you couldn't prepare. Batman was forever his contingency plan.
Moving over to Tony, Clark stood next to him, looking back at Bruce. "We came because we were worried. We also came because as much as you like to consider yourself an entire planet unto yourself, you have friends. Friends that care and subsequently worry when you lock yourself away." His voice went quieter, with a slightly sad note. "And I don't want to lose Bruce to Batman." Glancing over at Tony next, Clark continued. "You're in pain. It's okay to be in pain. But that's why you have friends."
