Maria had to stare at him as he listed off his first demand for information: he had to be kidding. She was currently without backup, yes, but she had her hands free and weapons in them. He was closer than she liked, but she was free. She didn't know what he could do, but she sure as hell knew what she could do.
They were balanced into a standoff, but that still didn't mean she had to tell him a damn thing. She just had to keep him from shooting her dead until she could figure her angle.
This was Gotham, for cryin' out loud. Why were there never vigilantes patrolling the docks when she needed them?
"Everything on the agent, call sign Black Widow, is classified," she said coolly as she shifted a foot back, feeling for balanced distance, slowly moving her hand half-behind her back to adjust her gun in the holster, preparing to draw fast if she had to. "That is my only answer." Now she would just have to see what the hell he'd do to get his precious information.
