He listened as he paced the shelves, gauntlet up to guide his eyes as he looked over a sampling of spines. Cultural history here. He looked across the way, lens magnifying the opposite shelves. Geology and minerals. Biology not far from that.
It was the holographic stations that interested him most, steps resolutely walking to one, looking at the symbols and analyzing them mentally for their meanings.
"So... You are attempting a deviation of this dimension's fate." He said it in a tone that revealed he trusted that Cable understood the results of crossing and creating a schism in fifth and sixth dimensions. He set the metal fingers to the holograph, testing its responsiveness. He dragged an item through the air, again testing. His fingers started to slowly pick up speed, creating and expanding on the information he was swiftly tracing on the left side, looking up articles of information. Some he gave hesitation to, brown eyes flicking over their information... information not even the Latverian Academy of Sciences even had. "Currently the fate of our species is already grim. Humanity is outstripping its resources, as I'm sure you are well aware. War is imminent, especially when first world countries begin to starve. Only recently was this slowed after the unnatural winter... But not slowed enough." He had wanted to repair more damage, but the witch had been pregnant and collapsed before anything further could be done for the Earth then healing the most recent loss from the ice. Even Doom had known better than to press the chaos magic further. The axis mundi had been drained, now a deadzone to magical energies in the chamber below his castle.
He pressed an executing button. A similar graph to what he had on his own computer systems at home began, though much less detailed, a swipe of his finger along the timeline showing humanity's insistent decline at the current trends. "This... Apocalypse... will not find a challenge in humanity's destruction." He reached the end, the globe robbed of life but for the simplest bacterias. "Your claimed endeavor is much more complex and would require dedication from all corners of the globe."
He folded his arms and looked to the taller mutant. "And humanity has not evolved enough to garner the sensibilities of cooperation. In many ways, though it has become increasingly peaceful, tribal mindset is still the dominating thought process for ethnic and regional groups. Your hope is premature, even with the utmost of good intentions. You will need more aggressive solutions."
He was treading ground that was comfortable for him, But he was watching Cable closely to see the reactions of the other man, testing his proclamation. What were his true intentions? What he had and his gathered intellectuals figured out already?
