Who: Mia Dearden and Tommy Shepherd
Where: Midtown High, New York
When: March 21st, after school
What: Commiserating in detention.
Rating: PG-13, possibly for language?
"Gah!" Tommy checked the time on his phone again and started walking down the hallway just a bit quicker. He was going to be late and tardiness would mean yet another day in detention. At the rate he was going, Tommy wouldn't have a free day until April. But even with the promise of more time sentenced, he just couldn't bring himself to go any faster. It just seemed so wrong to run to detention. It wasn't like anyone wanted to be there.
Luckily, Tommy made it to the classroom just in time and frowned in annoyance when he saw the teacher on duty. Mr. Baker had been at the school longer than the school's outdated textbooks. The man wore thick glasses and always carried a leather satchel with him. In class, he didn't so much as teach than lecture; and in detention, the only thing he ever did was read heavy leather bound books and viciously shush people if they talked too loud.
The old guy probably wouldn't have noticed if Tommy had snuck in. Oh well. It was too late. He was already here now. Tommy wrote his name on the sign in sheet and reluctantly dropped his cell phone in the basket with all the others. He grabbed a open chair and didn't so much sit as flop. This was going to be so brain numbingly boring.
