Re: Mockingbird, Hawkeye I and Hawkeye II
Kate was taking a moment to think about her answer to Bobbi, but then Barton stepped in adding his insight. There was the age thing she'd expected. That she could let roll off, because honestly? What could she say to that when he was right. He was right about a lot of what he said, but that's not what bothered her. It was the attitude.
She expertly bit her tongue, as her eyebrows lifted above the tops her sunglasses. She didn't wince, managed to keep her breathing level, and her hands from curling into fists, which is what she wanted to do. She really wanted to do that. She did wet her lips with her tongue, an unconscious action, before he decided to back out. There were so many things she could say right then, but he was leaving. She wasn't going to draw him back into it.
She just had to remind herself why she was there, which she'd forgotten a moment before.
Turning back to Bobbi once Clint was gone, she let out a sharp breath. "Not if he's still there," she said answering her previous question. "If you'll excuse me." She turned and walked off herself.
