"I remained uninjured, thankfully." He was watching her, carefully, as she took the water and lemon. It was a careful, searching look. Over the years of working with his fellow agents, especially those who took in a fair share of combat, he'd taken on more interest in their well-being than was ever required. Phil did care about them, they were the closest thing he had to family these days. And if you watched your family come back with injuries from assignments that you'd assigned them to, there would be concern.
"Don't drink too much of that," he finally advised. "Alcohol dries out your throat, makes it chafe. Tea with honey and lemon, a few cups a day." Again, his voice was quiet, this time slightly pleading. "Please."
