Summers in Smallville never changed, in fact nothing in Smallville changed very much. Sure, most of the town had wireless internet now, but certain things were still enjoyed, simple things. Lemonade on hot summer nights, apple picking, and of course, fishing.
Clark and Conner had left for Smallville early that morning, arriving just in time for Ma to present them with two platters of pancakes, eggs, sausage, freshly squeezed orange juice, and of course, hugs. Clark could already feel himself relaxing, and smiled more. He needed to bring Lois and Kara out here soon. Metropolis was his home, but Smallville could bring him peace that no other place could.
And now, Clark sat in a an aluminum boat with Conner, his reel already cast. Ma had insisted that they not go hungry, and had packed two picnic baskets full of food and cold lemonade for her boys. Glancing over his shoulder at the younger boy, Clark cleared his throat. "Yep."
