Re: Dinah & Oliver & Bruce (the bastard) & Selina
"He would look pretty hilarious brooding into one of those giant coconut drinks though." The mental image was almost enough to make Dinah crack up but she managed to dial it back to just a grin.
Dinah was incapable of turning off her detective's eye. Even at a party like this where most people knew each other and everyone was friendly, off their guard, trusting. But that didn't mean that Dinah wasn't unconsciously taking notes about everyone she met, and the same was true for when she met Selina.
Her beauty was actually one of the last things that Canary noted because while yes, Selina was very beautiful (it was only to be assumed that Bruce Wayne had a beautiful date, really)- that didn't interest Dinah as much as the way that Bruce put his hand on the small of her back, or that she turned into him and the look that passed between them. No, Selina wasn't just Bruce's date, she was his girlfriend.
And it was in that same moment that Dinah realized that she had never seen Bruce this way. Though most of her interactions, of course, had been with Batman and it would have been just as awkward to see Batman looking like a boyfriend as it would to see him drinking from a pink coconut... but still. It wasn't even the touches or the looks, but the chemistry there that even the blind couldn't miss.
Dinah smiled, and wondered briefly is Babs knew about this.
"The feeling is mutual." She replied, an inquisitive look crossing her face when Selina asked if they'd met. Now that she mentioned it, Ms. Kyle did look a little familiar, but from where? "Have we?" She asked, glancing briefly at Bruce to see if he had any expert imput on the matter, "I get confused for my mother a lot." Dinah admitted, but that didn't explain why Selina looked familiar if Selina was the one who was confused.
She really wished that she had Babs' photographic memory right now (or just her BFF in her ear running all her computer scans and whatever it was she did when she had Canary's back in the field).
