Dinah & Oliver & Bruce (the bastard)
First of all, they weren't protestations. They were an attempt to rectify the situation, because Ollie wasn't a complete asshole, and he was grown up enough to know that baiting Bruce in return was immature. But Bruce had to know what he had done was tantamount to baiting Ollie in the first place. Oliver wasn't like him. He wasn't controlled. He was the opposite: he acted on his emotions first, and his common sense second, once it had time to catch up. Those tendencies tended get even worse when Dinah was involved, because he was both crazy about her and jealous. He didn't like to share, when it came to her.
When it became apparent to Oliver that Bruce was never going to let this just drop, he excused himself. "I'll leave you two Gothamites to get to know each other," he said, keeping up with the ruse. "I need a drink. See you around, Bruce. It was nice meeting you, Canary."
