Oliver smiled as he watched Dinah interact with Lian. She was great with her. That was one of the reasons Roy had chosen her to be Lian's godmother, Ollie knew; a decision Roy hadn't made lightly, influenced by many factors, not the least of which being that Dinah was Roy's favorite person. Hell, Dinah was the favorite person of pretty much every member of the Arrow family. Oliver would have been insulted, if he didn't happen to agree with them.
He'd missed her. "Hey, Di," he said, to Dinah, then directed his attention to his granddaughter momentarily, "Why don't you go get the picture you drew for Di so you can show her?" he suggested. "And no running this time!"
That took care of Lian for the time being, and would allow them some time where Dinah could enter the house and they could talk without a four-year-old attached to her like a human magnet.
"Thanks for coming," said Ollie. Which felt a bit weird to say. There was a point in time when his place had been their place. No matter how many times they broke up, no matter how many months had passed since the last time they'd been able to call a place their place, he could never get over wanting to being able to do that. Because he never got over her. He never stopped needing her.
But his kids needed her, too. And Ollie always fucked things up when he got involved with her, so there would be none of that this time around. They would be friends. They could be friends. It was completely possible. Screw When Harry Met Sally.
