Adrian had sustained 4 broken ribs and had popped his dislocated shoulder back in place during his second engagement with the Skrulls. He didn't want medical attention until the mission was done, but as contingency Director Carter had told him he was sitting the next op out, he obeyed orders. He didn't want his pride getting people killed.

Then he got that ransom letter. After he read it, his blood pressure went through the roof and he had to be sedated. With his gauntlet augmenting his strength in addition to his adrenaline kicking in, it took 4 doses of sedative to knock him out. He woke up in the registration lobby of a hospital in Virginia.

Adrian has been resting in his room for a couple days now, wondering how everyone else is holding up. He was never told the invasion is over. The hospital staff thought he knew.

After being tipped off by an overseas source (a European police contact Penelope had met online) she was going over the recent transmissions with a fine tooth cyber comb. "Nothing is adding up! Its like whoever is behind this knows about hackers and people like me." setting up her spare laptop to run a program to disprove an ongoing hunch. This was not typical but things had been too quiet within the BAU so nobody seemed to mind Penelope giving some cyber help to a few contacts (some having become good online friends in the process). "Maybe I'll ping Harkness later, maybe they are getting somewhere on these." she mused but with a smile since he was a favorite among her overseas contacts.

But for the moment she was playing with idea after idea and not getting anywhere.
