This was definitely a love - hate relationship with the city of New York. Sookie was excited to come to New York, not so much because she was here doing something for Eric. At the moment, she was quite pissed with him.
Bill thought it was stupid for her to come in the first place; but then Bill hated Eric, as it seemed the older vampire hated Bill. One thing the confederate vampire was right about: Sookie should have been given a bit more instruction than go wait. But a promise was a promise even if it was to a vampire.
Truthfully, it was Bill who would bare the brunt of her anger. You love someone, you don't let them go away and not talk to them. Bill was a vampire, he could use a cell, he could use the plane. Sookie for once had been smart, she's never told either of them that as quiet as it was around them, as peaceful and amazingly safe as she felt, their thoughts at times were hers.
Vampires weren't as easy to read as humans. For her to put it in perspective, it was like a delicately woven mosquito net. There would be a rip, and one would escape. She felt using another blood-sucker was incredibly appropriate for that analogy. If she ever shared this, well, she'd meet gran much sooner than she wanted. It wasn't that she didn't miss her gran, she did. Life wasn't the same.
Full of life, she would hold on to it for as long as she could, she wanted adventure, something more than she'd had in Bon Tempe. At that moment she decided not to go home.
Eric, has been more than generous in setting her up in a hotel. Use to a much simpler life, the grand style made her feel uncomfortable. She'd tried to check out, she didn't want to waist his money, and she could protect herself. But that wasn't an option.
After a month of nothing, she had such cabin fever.
Exploring meant ending up with a migraine, but she couldn't stay in any longer.
There were simply too many people on the streets, too many thoughts swimming around in the air, one by one, as she got to a more crowded area, the assaults more and more intense.
Looking up into the night sky, she wished she could fly.
