"I don't want to go."
He remembered saying the words, and though the regeneration had started, and the TARDIS was shaking and smoking, he still remembered them. He remembered them and he remembered everything that had happened in the last week. He'd been to see them all, and he was so very confused. He was shaking as he felt his way around the center consul. He focused the darkened screen around to face him, and stared at his own shocked reflection.
"What!?"
He was even more confused now. Before when he went to regenerate, the energy went into his hand. But this time, there hadn't been a hand to take the energy. He'd been alone, and in so much pain. He dropped to his knees as the TARDIS gave another hard shake. She was crashing and the Doctor could barely stand long enough to try to fix it. He reached up with one hand and twisted a knob before he doubled over again in pain. The TARDIS hummed around him as he slumped against the chairs.
The TARDIS continued on it's crash course as the Doctor went in and out of consciousness. While he was in he was able to twist a knob or two, and set coordinates to take him to the one place he knew would be able to look after him. He just hoped that Jack had trained his team as well as he claimed to have. He didn't want to end up on some dissection table. But at this point he just hoped that he landed in one piece.
The final crash, sent him stumbling towards the main door as the consul started to spark dangerously. He turned to look at it one last time before a very big explosion sent him crashing out of the doors and onto his back on the concrete. He groaned and looked up just in time to see the doors to the TARDIS close and the sound of the locks. He tried to get up to go to her, but he couldn't move.
As he laid back on the ground and stared at the very Earth sky, he let the pain consume him and let it take him into the darkness of sleep.
