[Thursday monring, by Kurt's locker, Kurt & Karofsky and anyone who wants to pick up the pieces] Thursdays sucked. Thursday meant that Friday was still a day away and that was just maddening. Kurt was scowling at his locker for existing on a Thursday, much like any other Thursday, when out of nowhere, his head snapped forward into the metal door. He let out a sharp “Shit, what's your problem?!” and spun around to find himself face-to-chest with Dave Karofsky.
“What did you tell her, you little faggot?”
A look of incomprehension flickered across Kurt's face. Tell who what? Then...oh.
“I didn't tell her anything, you mouth-breather.” He didn't exactly mean to be confrontational, but damn it, his head hurt and it was a Thursday. “However, she told me how she smashed her ring out of shape with your face. Nice bruise, assho—”
He was cut off by a large hand clenched around his neck, pushing into his throat. His eyes widened and he grasped at Karofsky's arm, tugging at it, trying to get the larger boy to let go. Unfortunately, though he was stronger than he looked, Kurt was nowhere near as strong as his assailant. And the more he struggled, the more he realized just how little air he was taking in. As in...none. “I told you I'd kill you if you said anything. I told you.”
Other kids passed in the corridor, pointedly not looking. It was better to stay out of things, especially if a fight isn't being at all entertaining. And this one was far from entertaining.
He gave another tug at Karofsky's arm, and the boy slammed Kurt's head into the locker again, bringing spots to his vision and tears to his eyes. Wide blue eyes gave a pleading look, but it was no use.
I'm going to die, he thought. I'm going to die and I'm going to do it at school. On a damn Thursday. And that thought was the last thing in his mind before everything blacked out and his body went slack, his lips faintly blue.
Karofsky narrowed his eyes and dropped the boy to the floor, where he slumped in a heap. A couple of swift kicks to the ribs and he stalked off, leaving Kurt dead pale and very much unconscious.
