Neville waited anxiously in the parlour for his date to arrive. The clock stuck seven and the seconds passed, Neville wondered if New Year's Eve had been a dream and there was no date.
The fire flared green and Bill Weasley stepped through. "Sorry I'm late. I had some year-end things to clear up at work."
Bill crossed the room, kissing Neville softly before pulling him into a tight embrace. Neville's stiff form began to relax and he responded with a swipe of his tongue against Bill's lower lip.
"Mmmm," Bill sighed. "What a perfect way to start the year."
