WHO: Hermes, Peitho, Luna Olmos WHEN: Monday afternoon WHERE: Their apartment WHAT: Reuinions WARNINGS: TBA
Peitho and Luna were coming home today.
Ever since Henry had come to help him sort his life out, Hermes had been meeting with the boy every day. They met up for coffee and Hermes noticed the cafes got further and further afield each day, which would increase the amount of time he spent outside the apartment. Bless that boy. Henry had helped him shop online too, since Hermes couldn't be bothered with going to shops to buy things. He had arranged a deep clean of the apartment and a trip to the barber, which Henry had sat there for dutifully since Hermes still didn't feel comfortable with someone he didn't know touching him.
He was looking more like his old self, a least a little. He was still dreadfully thin, his ribs sticking out prominently. None of his clothes fit, so he had taken a trip to a tailor with Henry, to get a few suits fitted for now. He could just throw them away when he gained the weight back. His skin was a map of pain too, as covered in scars as he was. The worst of them were on his back where Lucifer had whipped him repeatedly. It was all healed now, of course, and hidden underneath the suit he wore for Peitho and Luna's arrival. The only outward sign of his torment would be the hollows of his cheeks, and the boniness of his hands, and how slight he looked in his new suit.
He had even cooked for them! Hermes knew how to cook, he just usually didn't bother. But he had made baklava for the return of the women he loved. And maybe it was just a 'look I'm still able to do things' gesture, but it mattered to him. He had told Henry he was nervous for their return, but none of that showed as he heard the door to the apartment open. He smiled and stood, that familiar air of power around him because that was the Hermes he was going to project. That was the Hermes...at least Peitho...needed him to be.
He hadn't laid eyes on them for over half a year, and his heart pounded as he heard them come closer.
