Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Current mood: distressed
Entry tags:friar tuck, sheriff of nottingham, will scarlet, will stutely

Who: Friar Tuck, The Sheriff of Nottingham, then Will Scarlet and probably eventually open
What: Revenge
When: Sunday afternoon
Where: Parsonage
Warnings/Notes: TBA - but beating up definitely!

Tuck was so focused on making sure his congregation remained safe, he hadn't even thought about the possibility of the sheriff just walking into his house while they all watched over the church. But when he jogged back to his parsonage just to grab a book for one of his parishioners to borrow, that was where he found the sheriff, standing by his mantel like a fucking omen of death.

"Jesus Christ!" Tuck hissed, skidding to a stop. Tuck's laptop was open on the coffee table, and Malcolm had obviously been looking through it. Thank fuck he hadn't kept any of the files from the goddamned flashdrive. "You fucking piece of shit, get out of my house!" His knees were shaking and his heart was in his chest. Last time he'd face the sheriff he had ended up dead. As soon as he told the sheriff to leave, he realised he could, and probably should. Fuck his possessions. Patrick and Stutely were probably still over at the church, even though things were winding down now, so they might have left. But someone would be there. All he had to do was run over there-

He turned around to run, but something caught him hard in the back, right between the shoulderblades. His knees buckled and he stumbled as he saw his laptop crash to the floor. The sheriff had thrown it at him and it hurt.

That small stumble was enough. The sheriff was on him, shoving a foot against the inside of Tuck's knee, so Tuck fell to the ground hard, his knees slamming into the wood of the floor. "I know you fucked her!" Malcolm was screaming, but Tuck hardly heard as he struggled to get free. Malcolm was straddling him, and Tuck was on his stomach on the floor, one arm twisted up uncomfortably behind him. "You fucked her, you piece of shit!" Malcolm bellowed. He slammed Tuck's face into the floor hard, and pain exploded across Tuck's cheeks and nose. His head swam. And then Malcolm was flipping him over.

"Stop-" Tuck begged already. He was fairly sure his nose was broken. "I d- I didn't-"

"Don't you dare fucking lie to me, you fucking lech!" Malcolm slammed his fist into Tuck's face again and Tuck groaned in pain, leaning to the side to spit blood. Then Malcolm stood. He kicked out, his boot catching Tuck in the belly and side. He curled in on himself, but not fast enough to stop the sheriff from aiming one last kick, right at his balls. Tuck howled in pain, his hands going to protect the area. He was still panting, trying to get his body under control when he noticed the sheriff was gone.

Everything hurt and his pulse was pounding in his ears. Gingerly, Tuck rolled to his uninjured side, and he let out a sort of half sob half wail. "Help," he managed to say, but it was so weak. Instead, he reached into his pocket, hands shaking, and pulled out his phone. He needed to call Stutely. Needed to get someone here. "Siri. Call. Will."

And the phone dialled, but it called Will Scarlet instead.

Will was sitting on the sofa with his feet on the coffee table, reading a book, when his phone rang. He glanced at the screen, saw it was Tuck, and answered the call.

"'Sup lover?" he greeted, putting the phone on speaker and setting it on the arm of the chair while he reached for his tea.

Tuck blinked in confusion for a second, but in the end he supposed it didn't matter that he'd reached Scarlet instead of Stutely. "I need help," he managed to murmur at the phone. Then he remembered, through the haze of pain, that Will had gotten frustrated with him for being vague in high pressure situations before, so he tried to be clear even though his words were slurring.

"Sheriff was waiting for me. Gone now, but I'm hurt, Will. I'm at home. Please come?"

The tea lay forgotten as Will went for his shoes and a hoodie. "Is there anyone else who could get there sooner?" he called, jamming his feet into his shoes and tying the laces as quickly as he could. The fucking Sheriff, a-fucking-gain. Why was it always-

He grabbed his phone, wallet and keys and was out the door, jogging down the stairs with the phone off speaker, pressed to his ear. "I'm on my way. How hurt is hurt?"

"Was trying. To call Stutely," Tuck breathed. To be honest though, he wanted his boyfriend there too, no matter who got there first. Just hearing his voice was helping.

Tuck swallowed roughly, trying to take account of all his injuries. "Back. Knees. Face. Ribs. He kicked me in the balls, Will," Tuck gritted out. "Fuck everything hurts."

SHERIFF HURT TUCK, HOW CLOSE ARE YOU
"I just texted him," Will said as he burst out of his building door. "I'm calling an uber. I'll be there as soon as I can. Are you having any trouble breathing? Is anything broken? Keep talking, tell me when Stutely gets there."

"I can breathe," he reassured his boyfriend. His words were still slurred and his voice marked with pain, but at least he could talk at all. He didn't know if anything was broken, other than his nose. He wasn't as bad as Will had been when the Sheriff and Guy had attacked him, that was for sure. "Nose is broken I think. He thinks I fucked someone. I don't know who."

"Why does he care who you slept with?" Will waited on the corner for his uber to show up, bouncing on the balls of his feet. "Keep your head forward so the blood doesn't run down your throat, ok?"

Stutely hadn't even noticed that Tuck had ducked out of the church building. The parishioners were still milling about, chatting, and Tuck had been circulating among them, and though his eyes had drifted back to the exits a few times during his own awkward conversation with Patrick, the expected trouble had never materialised.

Or so he'd thought, until his phone vibrated with an all-caps message from Scarlet that hit him like a slug in the guts. He cast a wild look around the room – still no trouble, but also, he realised with an awful jolt, no Tuck.

in church where is he
He didn't wait for a response, just shoved the phone back into his pocket and bolted for the door. It had been, what, minutes since he'd seen Tuck? So if the Friar wasn't in the church, chances were good he was in the yard or the house.

Tuck had natrually been lying in the stable side position, but he leaned his head a little further down, and blood did indeed trickle out of the corner of his mouth. He moaned in pain, his head swimming as he did it. "Fuck-" he hissed.

Then he heard the door open. "Please, don't-" he whimpered, assuming the worst. Assuming it was the sheriff. "I can't-" Will was on speaker phone so he would be able to hear everything.

"Stoots is coming," Will said urgently. "Yell out to him, he's looking for you!" He could see his uber approaching, and he waved his arm out to them.

"S-Stutely!" Tuck called out, though he hated the idea that if it was the sheriff coming back, that his friend would be in the firing line. He tried to gather his breath so he could yell louder. "STUTELY!" he screamed, and then he coughed, blood splattering all over his floor.

The front door was unlocked, and Stutely was through it even before the second message reached him. The Sheriff had been here. Was still here, maybe; Scarlet's message hadn't said. Fuck! Why hadn't they had eyes on the house?

"Tuck?" Calling out wasn't the smartest thing he'd ever done. If anyone else was in the house, he'd just announced himself. But Scarlet had said Tuck was hurt, said to hurry, and the memory of packing bags of ice round a corpse in the bathtub curled around his lungs. "Tuck—"

Then came the answering shout and he was running, dropping to a crouch by his friend's side. "Shit! Tuck, what happened?"

Relief washed over Tuck as Stutely came into his view. "Hey," he breathed out, thought blood was still dripping from his mouth so he likely looked ghastly. He reached out for Stutely's hand. "He's here," he gasped to Scarlet, though his boyfriend had probably figured that out by now. "Don't know why he- He just hit me and ran."

It didn't immediately register that Tuck was still on a phone call and there were two parallel conversations taking place, so when Stutely heard he's here, he whipped around, expecting to see the Sheriff bearing down on the both of them. There was no other movement in the room, but his hand curled around the folding knife in his boot anyway. "Is he still here? Do you know where he went?"

"That you, Stutely?" Will said. "I'm in the car on my way, I should be maybe ten minutes. How's it looking?" He trusted the truth far more from Stutely in this situation, as a more objective eye.

"The nose ain't pretty," Stutely said frankly, taking stock of the damage. "Looks broken." He couldn't see any other obvious injuries, but that didn't mean they weren't there.

He looked Tuck in the eye. "Alright, mate, you ready?" He slid an arm under his friend's shoulders, guiding him carefully to standing, doing his best not to cause any further pain. Once he'd got Tuck over to the couch, he retrieved the phone and placed it within reach.

"I'm gonna get you some ice for that nose," he said as he straightened. "And the first aid kit. You right there for a sec?"

Tuck grunted as he was shifted to the sofa, but once there, he was able to relax a little. "Stutely," he whispered. "Might need ice for this too," he reached down to lift up his shirt, showing Will his abdomen which was already bruising deep and angry." "And a- he kicked me in the balls. So. Three icepacks?" He wasn't going to show them to Stutely, but got they still throbbed.

Fucking rat bastard was what Stutely thought when Tuck revealed the darkening bruises. But all he said, with a sharp nod, was, "Shitload of ice packs, got it. Be a tick."

He took a circuitous route, checking each room, bolting doors and windows as he went. They'd already been breached once today and even if the Sheriff had gone, he wasn't going to leave their security to chance.

There was a question, though: why had the Sheriff gone? It would've been a choice setup for an ambush, getting Tuck by surprise and then lurking in wait till the others came to his aid. In fact, it was almost the exact move he'd pulled on Tuck the last time, trying to use him to lure out Scarlet. But Tuck had said the Sheriff just whaled on him and then run. Why, when they knew now he already had eight cells waiting?

He returned juggling a first aid kit and several ice packs, one of which he immediately passed to Tuck. A deep frown creased his features as he turned things over in his mind. "You were supposed to be in the church," he said. Not an admonishment, just an observation. "He wasn't expecting you in here."

"Don't lock Scarlet out," Tuck breathed, as he watched Will lock the house up. He very much wanted his boyfriend here. The first ice pack was immediately applied to his balls, and Tuck closed one eye and he let out a pained groan. "I fucking hate ice," he hissed, since his last experience with ice had not been pleasant. "He was looking at my laptop. Must have been looking for something and I surprised him."

"'S fine, I'll let Scarlet in when he arrives," Stutely replied distractedly. Better to be safe than to leave themselves open for the sake of saving a minute's inconvenience. Speaking of which, at some point, when Tuck was no longer gushing blood from the face, Stutely would really have to sit the man down for another talk along the theme of see, this is why you need to use the deadlock as well as the regular one.

He applied a second ice pack to Tuck's bruised side, took a moment to brush aside the memory of cramming frozen Ziploc bags around his friend's corpse, then handed over the final ice pack for Tuck's face.

Then he crossed the room to pick up the laptop, frown deepening. "Looking for what? The blueprints you got?" That was bad, though he'd be relieved if that's all it was. His first thought hadn't been that the Sheriff was looking for something, but that he was leaving something behind. Bugs, maybe.

Stutely set the laptop down on the coffee table and opened it up, hoping to god it still worked. If it did, they could at least see what the Sheriff had been digging through.

"Probably trying to see what Marcie gave us," Tuck groaned, holding the ice pack to his broken face. God it hurt. "All that's on that computer is church files though. And one photo of Scarlet without clothes on, which I hope to fuck he didn't see." They did not need the sheriff knowing he had Will were together.

When the computer refused to log on, Tuck groaned again. "He threw it into my back. Hurts like fuck. Kept yelling about me fucking someone. A woman. I haven't been with a woman in ages."

Stutely gave the side of the laptop a few half-hearted thumps with his palm, which was pretty much his only fallback for dealing with a computer that wouldn't start. He sat back on his heels, hissing his frustration.

He tried to set to one side his anger with the Sheriff and the violence done to Tuck, and consider the cold facts of the situation. The Sheriff had been here, poking around the computer. He hadn't expected to see Tuck, but when he had, he'd been... enraged, apparently. Enough so to lash out with a vengeance. Because of a woman? Why would the Sheriff care about a woman? And why would he think Tuck—

"What about emails?" he asked. "Or other messages? Social media?" Shit, he hoped the Sheriff hadn't gotten into their private communications.

"No. 'smy work computer," Tuck slurred. "Only have my church email on it. And I close out of that. Two...factor protection. Fuck I need some pain killers. My personal stuff is all on my phone. 'cept the one photo. Can only open with my fingerprint. Can you see if there's panadol in there? Or fucking heroin, Jesus."

Well, now that both Scarlet and his uber driver were aware of the contents of Tuck's computer, it was time to get out. He hung up his phone as he jogged up the path and knocked quickly and insistently on the door.

"It's only me!" he called, impatiently waiting for the door to be unlocked.

Shit, he was letting himself get distracted. Tuck was in pain; the rest of it would wait. Stutely dragged over the first aid kit and began sifting through it. His hand had just closed around a box of ibuprofen when the knocking started.

"That'll be Scarlet," he said, at about the same time that Scarlet called out and confirmed it. Stutely pulled himself up and went swiftly to the door.

"He's on the couch," he said, rather unnecessarily, since Scarlet had been on speakerphone the whole time. "You go ahead, I'm gonna get him some water."

Scarlet nodded to Stutely, and then hurried through.

"Holy shit," he exclaimed, taking in the blood dripping down Tuck's face and over his shirt. "You look a right mess." He pressed a kiss to his boyfriend's temple, sitting down next to him. "You alright?" he asked, although he'd been listening, he knew, but it was habit to check in like this.

Tuck immediately reached out for Will's hand, so he could clasp it tightly. "Been better," he said, though now that Will was there, he was much less agitated. "Thank you. For coming. Least he didn't kill me, hmm?" Was it too early for black humour?

"Lets count our blessings, I guess," Scarlet said with a bit of false cheer, looking up at Stutely with a brow raised, silently asking him how everything was.

"He's a prick, inn'ee. That's why he hit you. He was snooping and you busted him. And he's a fucking prick."

Tuck took the pills and then the water, so he could wash them down. "Thank you," he breathed to Stutely. "He is a prick. I still don't understand who he thinks I slept with. Unless he somehow found out about Eleanor?" But that had been ages ago, and Will had been there too. And would the sheriff honestly care that Will and Tuck had had a threesome with John's mother?

"'spose we should clean me up. All I can taste is blood. It's awful. Will," he said, taking Scarlet's hand, "will you stay? I don't want to be alone." The thought of trying to sleep alone tonight was awful.

Stutely answered Scarlet's silent question with a faint grimace. Realistically, he knew things could have ended up far worse. The nose was bad, but the injuries were more painful than debilitating. They couldn't know for sure, but it seemed doubtful the Sheriff had found anything on the laptop. But Tuck was hurt, again, and it had happened under their noses and despite all of their precautions. He'd been here while it happened, right in the next building; he should have been more on the ball.

And fuck, but it bothered him that they didn't know. The Sheriff could be unpredictable in his methods, but his MO was generally pretty consistent: he was the law and he was going to see them punished. This didn't fit with that. This was... weirdly personal, and Stutely couldn't begin to guess what it was about.

He knew it was going to keep gnawing at him. But Tuck took priority now; he could lose sleep over the Sheriff later. "I'll get some more water. And some towels." There was a lot of blood to mop up.

"That thing with Eleanor was months ago," Scarlet said, shaking his head. "I can't think why that would- Yeah, yeah of course I'll stay. I'm here for you." He glanced up as Stutely walked off to get the water, then leaned in towards Tuck.

"So, uh, you keep a nude of me on your work laptop?"

Tuck squeezed his eyes shut, and he blushed uncharacteristically for the second time in a week. And yet again it was about what was on his bloody laptop. "No one else sees my laptop," he assured Will. "And it was a really beautiful photo! I kept it well hidden! I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been so stupid."

Will laughed softly. "Sure, they all say it's about the art," he said, amused. "Don't be sorry. I think it's sweet." He leaned forward as if to kiss him, but stopped, because he didn't really want blood all over his face. And he glanced up as Stutely made noise in the hallway, and gave Tuck a wink instead. "My uber driver looked impressed, anyway."

Tuck chuckled and then he winced at the pain that caused his abdomen. It didn't feel like he had any broken ribs though, thankfully. Will leaning closer as if to kiss him made Tuck groan and readjust the ice on his balls. "Don't give me a boner, my balls are killing me," he said, though he was half-smiling now. "Sorry, Stutely, if you heard that."

Stutely, returning with a couple of old towels and a bowl of lukewarm water, cracked a slight smirk. "Nothing I ain't heard before, Friar. Well," he admitted after a beat, "maybe not in this particular context."

(Honestly, he was more tripped up by that thing with Eleanor, which was more than he'd ever wanted to know about the Queen's sex life, but it also didn't make sense for the Sheriff to blow his top about that, so he'd made the decision to file it away under Not His Business.)

He set down the bowl beside the couch and offered one of the towels to Scarlet. "You want to do the honours, beautiful?"

"I wasn't trying to," Scarlet said, shaking his head at Tuck, because the man was a machine if he was busted and bruised and still thought he was capable of getting hard. He looked up as Stutely addressed him, though, and tilted his head at him. He now knew perfectly well that the man had heard everything.

"Don't mind if I do, gorgeous," he said, leaning into it, taking a towel and dipping the edge if it into the bowl. "Alright, hold still. We're cleaning you up. That shirt is going to have to have a good long soak before the blood dries into it properly." He started wiping gently at the blood on Tuck's face, starting on the outside and working carefully inwards, avoiding pressed on his nose. "You're gonna have quite the shiner tomorrow."

"I let you undress me then. Incorrigible," Tuck joked, even though his voice was low and he was clearly still in pain. He was surrounded by people he loved and he was less worried the Sheriff would come back and just kill him. The attack had been painful, but he could still move everything. He didn't feel like he had a concussion, which was some kind of miracle. He could live with 'quite the shiner'.

He hissed air through his teeth as Will cleaned a particularly tender part of his face. "It's alright," he reassured his boyfriend. "Just a sore spot. I'll tell people I was in a valiant quest. It sounds braver than, 'he threw laptop at me which made me fall and then he held me down'."
