WHO The Saracen + Much the Miller's Son
WHEN After seeing Gisborne this night
WHAT Leila is drugged, scared and not herself, also feeling a failure for failing her mission....
WARNINGS Nakedness and smexy times!
STATUS On-going

Leila sat on that floor for some time before steadying herself back on her feet, those heels she was normally so comfortable in quickly becoming difficult. She walked out towards the back, once again finding herself hiding from Gisborne in case his patrol car was out waiting for her. She didn't have the strength to actually face him again, her brain addled with more than wine. She knew he'd slipped something in her drink, and she should be thankful that more had not happened, but honestly, would she be sure of that when her mind was clear? Her head hurt and she had to keep stopping to look at her surroundings. She looked at that picture Much had sent her on the phone, knowing he was probably hanging out with the boys at the Sly Fox about now. She did not question whether or not she should bother him, but Robin would want to know what she did find out----

Honestly, Leila was not in the mindset to appear distressed and out of it. She could not bare seeing Robin disappointed with her. Had she just failed this assignment? She swallowed heavily feeling her eyes prick with tears, the drugs in her system making her hysterical, and that was not normal for her. She called Much, but as soon as he picked up the phone she instantly hung up.

She tried that again at least three times, hanging up every single time. She hugged the phone to her chest and found herself at a coffee shop where she rushed inside, looking behind her and all around her. She hid in the corner with her cup of coffee and hoped that it put some sense in her head.

Much had googley eyed several things around the Sly Fox with a borderline angry air about him. Fuck you he thought to the Sheriff, as he anthropomorphised a couple of Marian's oranges. I'm having fun. Fuck you, you can't get to me. Last night at the Fox, surrounded by most of the others, had been a night of wired energy, a hell of a lot of swearing, and some powerful hugs. Much both did, and absolutely did not, want to be looked after, which made him feel both moody and manic, and playing videogames with Marian had kind of, sort of helped. It'd been the only thing he really felt like doing, anyway, so he'd come back to the Fox after his shift at the Theban Cycle tonight determined to be less moody, less twitchy, more himself.

Thus, googley eyes.

It was sort of working? Maybe? Much was trying not to look too hard at people like Marian and Tuck because they were too good at looking too hard back at him and he didn't want to deal with that.

So he grinned viciously at the googley eyes he'd stuck to the underside of the lid of the toilet upstairs (the downstairs one being, apparently, very out of order) and left it to surprise whoever came to piss next, and was making his way back toward the others when Leila rang and everything inside him jumped. He knew she was with Guy tonight and he really wanted her to be finished with that and just come over. He wanted to be an idiot around her and make her laugh. He missed being an idiot.

But she hung up on him, and again, and again, and it felt like a terrible sign. Trying not to freak out, he rang her back, and the googley eyed toilet stared mockinkly back at him.

She expected him to call her back, and she expected she would be able to hold back from answering. She had the coffee there to try and calm herself, but she realized tea would have been a much better option. That relentless ring, she finally picked up the phone and answered with a meeker voice than usual. She didn't call him by name, nor did she say her usual nickname. She was hyper cautious from whatever Gisborne had slipped into her wine and she felt afraid. Leila was not a girl to feel afraid or shrink back into the back of a room, but also messing with her mind was the fact that she'd been caught. Gisborne did not have a name, he did not know where she lived, but it was the fact that he knew she was not who she said she was----and she'd slipped up. Her heart was pulling her one way, and it was clouding her judgement, because simply put, Leila did not want to be in this position. She was someone's girlfriend wasn't she?

"Leila!" He hissed her name down the phone, one hand braced against the edge of the sink. Her name came out all frantic and too intense, projecting his own feelings about himself and the Sheriff (and to some extent, Marcie and the Sheriff and the way he'd laced his disgusting fingers through her hair and yuk) onto Leila's situation with Guy. The second time he said her name it sounded a little less wild, like he was a person in charge of his own emotions. "Leila? Are you alright?"

She was quiet for a moment, the distress in his own voice causing her throat to close up. There was this intense urge to cry, but she was afraid to do that here, where there were still other people to look. She held her hand over her mouth to still herself, no matter how much it still shook. "I messed up," she said so softly, the voice he didn't like when she was not so strong.

"What's happened?" his voice was a little softer again, though still sounded so much stronger than hers. "Leila, where are you? I'm at the Fox with some of the others - we can come and get you, tell me where you are."

"No, no, no---" She sounded much more stern on that last "no". She could not let Robin know she failed, and who knew what would happen from here. "I don't need to be rescued like a damsel in distress." Yes she had called Much to help her on her feet last time when she twisted her ankle, but that had been part of selling the image to Gisborne. This was not part of the plan, and she didn't need it rubbed in her face; she was tricked. "I don't want to see Robin right now." He would not understand, she had compromised the situation and he would handle it poorly.

Much wanted to scream, a little bit, and paced a circle around the little bathroom with his knuckle bitten between his teeth (what the fuck had Robin done) before he got himself under control again. "Okay," he said, raking his hand through his hair. "Okay... what do you need, Leila? Talk to me."

Leila kept her hand over her mouth as she kept herself from getting pummeled by emotions and feelings of failure. This entire situation had spiraled very quickly and she had to keep her head! She stared down into her coffee cup, that dark liquid a steadying place. Or was it the sound of his voice as it broke through her barrier's of control? Tears would completely destroy her confidence right now, but there they were threatening her. She slipped once she tried to talk because with Much it was real, and he was concerned where Robin or even herself had not been. There was a horrid noise that came gasping from her throat and once the tears started she couldn't stop.

Oh god - hearing her cry was one of the worst sounds in the world. "Leila, babe, tell me where you are? Please -" he didn't know what to do, especially if she didn't want Robin knowing anything. But the others would skin him if he went after her by himself - unless the Sheriff got there first. Fuck everything!

I’m in a coffee shop,” and she couldn’t stand that her confidence was shattered by someone as vile as Gisborne. That she’d failed her mission already when she was usually so level-headed. Was it the drugs or just her heart hadn’t been in this from the first day. She took a deep breath and tried to get herself calm, but she couldn’t.

"Okay, good, that's good. Do you need me to come and get you? Do you want to come here?" He was trying to keep it calm too. Or if not 'calm' then at least 'under control'. Or if not 'under control' then at least more steady than Leila so he could look after her.

“I forgot you’re there with everyone—-“ she felt that panic swell back up inside, “I don’t want Robin to know I’m coming—“ her voice was so anxious and spastic. “He’s going to be so angry,” as he should be.

Oh fucking fucking fuck. "Don't know if I can hide you from him in this place, it's not that big. And everyone's so on edge about the Sheriff, no one's going to let me leave on my own. If you don't want to see Rob... Can you get a taxi here? Then I can tell the others I'm leaving, and we can go back to your place. Okay? Is that a plan?"

“Yes,” she croaked out, the idea of getting to see him making her feel a little better. A little less on edge. She was not sure what the reaction would be when she saw him face to face, but she in no way was going to be that strong confident girl he loved.

It took a little time before she could get there, covering her tracks, making sure that old black-hearted arse was not hiding somewhere. She didn’t want to be caught. Eventually, the cab pulled up and she messaged her boyfriend. Outside.

Much had tramped back to the others and threw himself down next to Marian, watching her destroy some aliens without really watching the screen at all. He told the others the truth, that Leila was heading over in a cab and that he was going back to her place with her, and kicked Will goodnaturedly when he teased him about it. What he did not do was look too hard at Robin, because what he really wanted to do was pin Robin down on the floor and demand "What've you made her DO!?"

He didn't, though. Leila clearly didn't want Robin to know that something had backfired on her.

When the cab arrived, he piled into the back, his eyes demanding to know what was going on - she looked a mess, and he slid both his hands around her face, thumbs on her cheeks and his fingers curled around the back of her neck. "I got you," he said. "Are you alright?"

The cab driver left after she told him to go, there was no reason to wait around once Much got inside. As soon as his hands were on her, she grabbed his wrists and she lost it. What had happened to her? How could she crumble and fold so quickly when this man showed her an ounce of sweetness. Her face scrunched and the tears just fell, choking her throat.

Her cheek, under one of his hands, was hotter than the other, and Much slid his hand away in horror, staring at the red mark just before Leila dissolved in tears. Fuck fuck fuck! He bundled Leila into his arms, pulling her in close and tight. Since his run in with the Sheriff, he'd been wanting to hug her this hard, and just... bury his face in her neck and hold on and breathe for a while, and now it was Leila that needed the comforting. He pressed a kiss hard onto the top of her head, closing his eyes as she cried. "I'm gonna kill him," he whispered, rocking her slightly. "He's dead."

She would tell him when they were not surrounded by foreign ears. Whatever she had to say to Much was only for him. He was the only one to see her this weak, this crumbled. Her arms were tight around his middle where she clung so tightly. It seemed like she cried forever until the car came to a stop right outside her apartment—-and she questioned if she’d have the strength to get out because she had practically melted against Much’s chest. The stain on his shirt was a mix of tears and makeup.

It was starting to feel like every time he saw this girl, she was breaking even harder. From her moody sullenness when she first told him Robin's plan, to her twisted ankle, to her collapsing into tears now in his arms. He couldn't let her break any more - he couldn't let any of them break, but Leila, most of all, he felt responsible for. Leila who held herself so strong and distant, except around him.

Much paid the driver and got her, as gently as he could, out of the car. "Almost home," he said, his arms still tightly around her so she wouldn't fall. "You've got your key somewhere? Want me to do it?"

There was something very safe about Much, very earnest and endearing. More importantly he’d gotten close. Not quite as close as the others maybe thought, but intimate enough. More than that, Much was something more than a bunch of sexual energy between them, and she wished they could go back to that first date, even the second, before everything got so complicated around them.

She took her keys out and handed them to her as she let him ease her out of the car and towards her apartment building. She couldn’t remember the walk to the door or even inside, but it felt so terribly long. She insisted he lock the door behind him, she had to see him do it to feel like it was safe to breathe.

Once inside, Much locked the door and double checked it, making sure it was as secure as he could make it. The Sheriff, he had to hope, didn't know about this place, just as he didn't know about the Sly Fox... Much had to hope, or else he was going to live all his life in fear. He could handle (could he??) the Sheriff knowing where he lived, where he worked, but knowing where Marian and Leila lived? That was too far. There was enough of the old 'protect the damsels' vibe in him that keeping them safe had to come first.

"Let me look at that cheek," he said, gently tilting her face toward the light, and hissing. "Did he hurt you anywhere else?" God, if he had...

She hadn’t said a word since he got in the car, so she just shook her head. Not much actually scared her, but hanging on the edge of some drugs in her body that were still trying to keep her mentally unstable, and everything else she was a mess. “He did put something in my drink, I stepped away when you messaged me and—-“ she’s been distracted, “I didn’t stop and think—-“ she sniffled, her little nose wiggling as she tried to remember and didn’t know where else to start.

He put something in her drink.

For a moment, Much almost couldn't see he was so angry.

"Fuck - fuck, Leila. You need - okay, sit down," he said, leading her toward the couch and sitting her down. He rushed back to the kitchen to get a glass of water, and was back with her in seconds, kneeling on the floor in front of her as he passed her the glass. "Just drink this to start with, okay?"

He put something in her drink. Much was going to kill him.

She followed his instructions of just because she needed someone to give her direction—right now she was too scattered. She held the glass tightly and took a swallow, big brown eyes liking back at him as if he could take everything away. “I hated it. I felt like—-“ she paused and shook her head, “I felt like I was cheating and somehow he found me out. He realized I wasn’t who I said I was—“

Horror widened Much's eyes. "He worked out you're one of us?" he asked, feeling just a little less like this place was still safe, but relieved, too, that the game was up and she could stop. Much shifted even closer to her on his knees, his hand stroking her arm like he needed to touch her to prove to himself she was here.

“I don’t think he knows I’m one of you, but he knows I put on an act—he’s been at that apartment building many times the one he thought I lived at” she took another heavy swallow of water, her hand shaking, but she steadied it when Much touched her. His touch was always so sweet and comforting. “Robin was there in plain sight earlier as an old bag lady.” It was Robin’s insistence that pressured her to go, “He’d been watching Gisborne too, with the Sheriff back I couldn’t keep hanging back, so I went on that horrible bloody date with Gisborne, and I hated it. I kept thinking about our date and when you texted I lit up.” It was when she’d stepped away and given Gisborne access to her drink. “After dinner I didn’t even remember going back to that apartment building.” Her hand started to shake again. “He wanted to see my apartment so I pretended I couldn’t get in the door. That was after the wrong guy answered the first door. I ran. I didn’t know what else to do...” and she wasn’t easily scared, but drugged up it had messed with her head, “I don’t get scared Much. Why did I run?”

"Cos it was smart," Much said, setting the empty glass on the coffee table behind him and taking both of her hands, hold them to still her shaking. "He drugged you, getting out wasn't being scared, it was being smart. You're so, so smart."

Robin's getup as an old woman would have amused him, but where had Robin been when Guy was slipping something into Leila's drink? There was nothing funny about any of this.

“But he caught up with me and knew—-he just knew I was lying and I should have been prepared. I should have staged this better,” it was clear it upset her, because this was why Robin trusted her—-and it backfired. “I know most of you think he’s just the Sheriff’s lackey, but he’s so much smarter than I thought and I catch criminals. He’s very perceptive.” Gisborne would get Robin one day, because she could feel the rage built inside of him.

"You shouldn't've had to stage it at all," Much said, climbing onto the couch beside her so he could pull her into his arms, safe, protected and close. "He's too dangerous to go at alone. Someone should have been there." (I, he thought, I should've been there.) "Where was Robin, when you were taking Guy back to your fake apartment, huh? Where was he?"

“Robin wasn’t there—-“ she said in a whispered voice. Pet of her had maybe thought he would be, but Robin had already instructed what he wanted to happen to push this along. “I think we all dumbed Gisborne down and I wasn’t prepared.” She could not get beyond the fact she’d failed. It really struck her hard, more than that slap on her cheek.

Robin. Wasn't. There.

Oh Much was so mad! What the hell was he thinking? Would he have dared to leave them alone, if it had been Marian in Leila's place?!

Much was so goddamn mad.

"I'm sorry," he said, tightening his arms around her. "You're safe now, okay. You're out. It's done. You don't ever have to pretend to be nice to him ever again."

"If he finds out who I am---" her face started to tear up because this was the part that really got to her, "I'm no use to you, to Rob, to the whole lot." Leila prided herself on what talents she had, that she was strong and sure of herself. This was a Leila not sure of anything.

"Leila," Much pulled back and took her face in both of his hands, so she'd look at him, so she'd see how serious he was. "You are worth so much more than one stinking mission, don't even think that." He was quivering with how mad he was at Rob for making her feel this way. For all of them, for making her feel she had to prove herself, just cos she was new.

"I'm sorry," she said in a whisper, because she had nothing else she knew to say. His eyes pierced her, and his words penatrated all her nerves and anxiety. "I don't fail things," she thought she might be sick. Much was the only one that didn't make her feel she had to prove any part of herself. "I just wanted to deliver some good news, I didn't want to end up like this." She couldn't help it, it made her feel so small.

"Don't be sorry," he said, shaking his head again. "Gisborne's the one who's going to be sorry, alright? He's the bad guy here. You tried. You didn't want to do it and you still did, it's not your fault it didn't work. Rob should've never let you go without backup, or I should have muscled in and gone with you." He took a deep breathe. "Look, fuck, at least it's over now, right? You don't have to ever try be nice to him again."

She looked away and nodded. It was over wasn't it? It might be, but Guy wasn't the rule to be aligned, and without someone else nipping at his heels, telling him what to do, there was a chance that he was still an enemy they shouldn't disregard. "He'll come back once he finds me out, " and maybe he didn't just appear like the Sheriff, but he was sneaky.

"What do I tell Robin?" He would be livid, maybe he stripped her of the gang like he did Marian, or shunned her involvement. "I can't be thrown out." It broke her to thinkhe would be disappointed with her.

"I'm NOT going to let him throw you out. Neither are the others - you saw how everyone rallied round Marian. No one's getting kicked out," Much said, savagely. "Everyone's talking about how we need to stick together. No one's dividing us. Not even Robin." He didn't care how he was going to make this happen, or what he was going to say to their glorious leader, but, dammit. No more goddamn division.

Leila paused and looked Much in the eyes written some of her usual gusto. "I'm not Marian," she had no idea how Robin would take this. He was still unstable even with Marian back, his trust in her too, the other woman in his life, it would be crushing. Leila was was heartbroken herself, and even with Much there, she was having a hard time keeping it together.

"Well I'll rally round you," Much insisted, annoyed as hell at the idea Rob would be a dick about this. Again. He'd been a dick about pushing her into it, and he'd been a dick about insisted Much keep out of his way when it came to Leila, and Much had had enough of it. "You're not going anywhere. It's going to be fine."

"Nothing about the way things are are normal right now, " including herself. Was she already losing herself? Had she ran her course with them? Was she--- losing herself? She didn't feel herself still and she reached (more like grabbed the collar of Much's shirt) and pulled her to him so she could squeeze him in her arms. "Just hold me, " she insisted.

Much closed his arms around her, tucking her head under his chin. "I got you, Leila," he promised, squeezing her tight. Despite all her muscle, she felt small in his arms, and he felt overcome with the need to protect her. She'd said earlier she wasn't some damsel in distress... but honestly, he'd never seen her more distressed. He kissed the top of her head, letting his mouth linger there for a while. "I gotcha, I promise."

She felt a small as Much thought, and his tight squeeze gave her encouragement. Leila closed her eyes tightly again, trusting Much to his word, that he was not letting go. "Don't leave, "she said in that shattered voice, "Don't leave me. " He meant so much to her already, she wasn't willing to let up.

"I won't," Much said, making his voice firm to counter her broken one. He wished he could pull her even closer, that he could become a place where she could hide away from this fear that Rob would kick her out for this, and the fear that the others wouldn't care if he did. Wished he could convince her she was safe from that. He laced his fingers through her hair and ran his hand down her back, pressing another kiss to the top of her head. "Should we go curl up in bed? If you sleep off the last of whatever he gave you, you might feel better. I'll stay with you."

She nodded and tried to keep those tears in check, leaning back from him so she could see his face, "I do," she planted a soft kiss on his lips, not ready to unfurl her arms from around him. Eventually she let go, but grabbed his hand and linked their fingers together. Just as they passed the doorway, she pulled his arms around her again, settling her back against his chest as she held on to his arms. Everything about him right now made her feel safe.

Much lay his chin on her shoulder when she paused, holding her against him for a long moment just enjoying the way she fit up against him. "I'm glad you called me tonight," he said, despite the fact that she'd kept hanging up, and getting hold of her for real had been a bit of a challenge. She'd still called when she needed him, and it felt so good to be needed. "And that you're not wearing ridiculous shoes," he smiled a bit, next to her ear, harking back to those strappy nightmares from their second date, and kissed her neck just once. "C'mon, get comfy."

Much liked being needed, and Leila liked that someone wanted her. She'd always been one for herself, and in all honesty putting the needs of someone else first before herself, being part of a group, that was something that was difficult for her. Robin had shown her what it meant to be part of something bigger.

She held onto his arms tightly, shivering slightly to his sweet kisses. He knew how to melt her. She left him for a moment to change in a simple tank top and some boy shorts. The more intimate they had become, the more comfortable she was. She gave him a soft smile once she returned, wiggling her bare toes. "No ridiculous shoes."

"That's my girl," Much said, grinning at her toe wiggle and her smile, as she seemed a little more like her usual self. He kicked off his shoes and his jeans, climbing into her bed in his shirt and boxers, holding out his hand to pull her in too. "You good?"

If she hadn't been coming down off some intense reaction from Gisborne's date and drugged wine, that insane flutter in her chest would have been more intense. She climbed onto the bed, crawling towards him and grabbing his face for a kiss. After he was allowed to breathe, she pulled back and gave him a soft smile. "I like being your girl," she said in a whisper. It was special, it made her feel good to be important to someone.

He grinned softly at her in the wake of her kiss, cupping her face in his hands as he looked at her. "I like it too," he said, wanting to pull her in and kiss her again, but too aware of the drugs in her system, of her delicate state, though she hadn't seemed delicate at all when she'd kissed him. He shuffled down in the bed and dropped onto the pillows, holding out his arms for her to settle into as well.

She sat on her knees for a minute watching him with wide eyes. When his arms opened up it looked like a safe, warm haven and she did snuggle up to him, resting in his warmth. She inched closer and took his hand, settling it in her lap. "I want you," she kissed the top of his hand, and she meant in more ways than being his girlfriend. His sweetness and calm demeanor, it made her feel like she wanted to show him how much.

Her closeness, and all their points of contact, and the tone in her voice combined into something close to irresistible. "I want you too," he told her, his voice low, touching her forehead with his. "There's still drugs in your system though, probably... I don't want to hurt you."

"I know, " but she was calm now, and he was being irresistibly sweet. Every thing this man did for her was so different than men before, and she loved that he treated her like a woman. She leaned in to kiss him again softly. "How are you so good to me?" She asked.

He hummed softly against her lips, her mouth soft and tempting under his. "Cos you deserve it," he gave her a smile, pulling back to brush her hair behind her ear. "Gonna make you breakfast in the morning too, so brace yourself for more good things."

"Oh is that so? Do you spoil all your girlfriends or just this one?" She lowered her lashes and bumped his nose for another kiss. Was he going to say no to her offer when she asked?

"I don't think it's spoiling you," Much said, Much who'd make breakfast for anyone who looked slightly hungry, Much who liked being a hero, yeah, but didn't think simple things like breakfast and, like, treating people with basic respect should be seen as heroic. He kissed her nose, resisting her mouth, and pulled back a little again. "I'll show you what really spoiling you is like, later. For now, come sleep, yeah?"

He just evaded her kiss, that little git. She moved in again, knowing full well he couldn't resist her kisses. She didn't want to sleep, but she had to admit, being wrapped in his arms felt right.

"Mmm," Much murmured against her mouth, returning her kiss gently as he curled his hand round the back of her head, stroking his fingers over her smooth hair. "You're not going to make going to sleep easy, are you?" He said, quite a lot of fondness in his voice, pulling back to smile at her again.

"Not at all, " she nuzzled his nose, a soft whimper as he caressed her hair. These were the gentle touches she wanted, the soft and sweet memories she wanted to hold onto. Not this fear and anxiety, with him she was safe.

Much pressed his nose against hers, his hands sliding down her arms to squeeze her hands. "I'm still gonna be here in the morning," he said. "I want you too, you're so - guh, Leila. Believe me. But not with lingering drugs, okay? I just... yeah, doesn't feel right."

"I know you are," he'd always been there when she asked. He dropped everything when she called on him, or pressured him to come see her. Every encounter since the first had ended in less than expected circumstances (while some more pleasant than others). Right now she was feeling detached from the rest of the world and all of the stories that had made her so grounded before. Robin was on shaky ground himself, and that bled over into everything else. She hated the feeling that he would hang this over her head when she'd been so willing to do anything he asked because he saved her from mental tyranny before. Before she really realized it, one of those warm, soft tears coated her cheek. How complicated everything had become.

Much caught her tear with his thumb, looking at her sadly. There was so much going on in her head, and all he wanted was to make it better. How did you rescue someone from inside their own head? Earlier she'd told him just to hold her, maybe that was all he could do, tonight. He certainly wasn't planning on letting her go, anyway. Much pulled her into his arms as he lay back against her pillow, and just held her, firmly wrapped up in him. If she wanted to cry, she could cry, if she wanted to sleep she could sleep. He wasn't planning on letting her face any of it on her own.

He was the first man outside of Robin that had pulled her into the fold, but Much took it a step further. Not only did he offer her a safe place but he nurtured the parts of her that were opening up for him, and her heart felt like it would burst. She did cry, but some of those tears were happy, because she wanted this man like nothing else before. Maybe Rob found it reckless, letting her emotions lead her for the first time in her life, but she liked feeling important to someone, and not as a chess piece or a weapon.

Much let her cry, holding her close and running his hand slowly over her hair, again and again, letting her do whatever she needed. He kissed the top of her head again, resting his chin on top of it. "I gotcha," he told her again. "You're okay."

She squeezed him tight. He was finding every way to wiggle into her heart. "You keep finding ways to make me fall for you," she smiled. "I'll be honest I'm already there." As soon as that came out of her mouth her eyes went wide. How was he going to take that.

“Hah,” he said softly, a surprised smile spreading across his face as he stroked his hand down her back. “Course you are, I’m very lovable.” He was keeping it light while he tried to work out – was this a big deal? Or was this like a drunken confession, something she wasn’t actually ready to say, to feel, something she’d regret saying in the morning. And how did he feel? He had quite quickly discovered he’d drop anything for her, and the victoriously pleased bellyflip he got whenever he made her properly laugh was always one of the highlights of his day, and being a safe place for her when no one else – not even Robin – would, that felt like one of the most important things he could do with his life right now. Did all of that count as falling for her? It was complicated by the fact she was one of the Merry Men, and he loved all of them to start with, and the fact that Much kind of fell in love with all his friends. Or maybe that didn’t actually ‘complicate’ anything, though; maybe it actually just made it all so much simpler.

He tilted her face up to look at him, fingers gentle under her chin. “I’ll be honest, me too,” he said. It felt right, when he said it, and felt even more right, when he kissed her lightly on the mouth.

Leila might have drugs in her system, but all that did was make her say what she really felt. She had fallen for this guy, and she had no intentions of letting him run away, and part of her was scared that she might not get to stick around. What happened if Robin didn't want her around anymore? Did her story just start to fade away? Would she become a ghost? She snuggled into his side even more, her grip tight around his waist. "I think I love you," she said very quietly before her eyes fluttered closed and she fell asleep.

Much closed his eyes and smiled as he leaned his cheek against her sleepy head again. How cool was this? In the midst of everything bad and hard and divisive going on, how awesome was this kind of togetherness they were working out? It made him think they could probably figure everything else out, if they started from here, from this intention right here. "Love you too," he whispered easily into her hair. Yeah, he thought, as he let himself drift off to sleep against her. Yeah this could be something great.

It wasn't the first time she'd woken up to Much, but it was the first time she looked at him with love in her eyes. Even though she had a bit of a headache she peeled herself off of his chest and looked at his cute sleeping face. She reached out to slide his hair out of his face with a kiss.

Much woke up slowly, smile already spreading across his face before he opened his eyes. "Hey you," he said, looking up at her, lifting his hand to stroke the back of her arm. "Feeling better?"

He lips turned inward with a thin lipped smile as she nodded. Did he remember what she'd said to him just before going to sleep? More importantly, had she really said it out loud?

"Mmm, good," he said sleepily, his hand making a slow circle on her back. She was so warm and soft next to him, he couldn't keep the smile off his face. "Waking up next to you is nice. I like. Top marks."

Her finger bounced off his lips as she slid it down and gave him a very welcoming morning kiss. "Stay more often," and not just when something crazy was happening. She wasn't going to mention it yet, she wanted to feel around and see if he felt the same way, and this time not just because she needed to feel safe.

"Mmmm okay," he said, following her kiss with another one, that first one hadn't felt like enough. "If I have to," he teased, more than willing to wake up like this more often. "If you say so."

"Oh?" She said walking her fingers down his chest, "Only because I say so?" She poked him a little harder, "I would have thought it's because you want to." And she could make him want to.

Much bit his tongue, grinning, starting to wake up a bit more. "You got me," he confessed, wiggling under her fingers a little bit. "I definitely want to."

She hummed and went for a more biting kiss, pulling on his lip with her teeth. Maybe that would wake him up a bit more. She wiggled herself and sat upright, feeling a little stuffy now that she was still in the dress from the other night.

"Hgnn," Leila's teeth pulled the noise out of him, a coil of lust starting deep in his belly. He pushed himself up in bed too, so he could slide his hand round the back of her neck and kiss her again, too distracted to think she might be shifting to get her dress off, which was definitely in his current best interest.

He hummed and kissed the tip of his nose, her hands straying right down his naked chest. Her finger stopped on his abs as she grinned and chewed on her bottom lip. "You promised to spoil me in the morning."

"I did," Much grinned at her, remembering. He raised his hand to her cheek, thumb easing her bottom lip from between her teeth. "I'm gonna keep the crap outta that promise," his smile was cheeky, watching her lip, mind on her hand on his stomach as he leaned forward and took her lip between his again.

Those kisses were so much more special this morning than the night before. It took her breath away, and she pulled back, her nose ghosting against his. Her intent had been to have him admit what he'd said after she fell asleep, what she heard in the back of her mind, but instead she found it rushing out of her mouth again. "I'm in love you," Her voice was so soft, escaping her mouth like a whisper on the wind and she quickly looked down with her thick heavy lashes just soft over the apple of her cheeks. She thought she might explode into a million pieces.

A little sound of loss slipped out of Much's throat as she pulled away from his kiss, but then her quiet little whisper that made him want to pull her so close. His grin softened as he rested his forehead again hers, the quietness that came over her sometimes still surprised him, and made him feel like she was sharing secrets, maybe secrets she was a little afraid of. She did look like she was about to shake apart, somehow.

"You sound so nervous about it," he whispered to her, looping both his arms around her waist. She often did, he thought, seem nervous when they were getting more intimate, and there wasn't much more intimate than I'm in love with you. "It's okay," he promised, breath soft against her skin. "I love you too."

Her hands caressed the side of his face. "I didn't know if you felt the same," Her nose scrunched and wiggled, "I hoped---" she gave him a soft kiss. This wasn't just the love of comrades, of the group of Merry Men had for each other, this was more than that. "I wanted to be sure before I said it, and then I said it anyway." Her fingers slid to his neck and tangled into his hair. She gave him that sweet smile as blush hit her cheeks.

"Haha, I'm rubbing off on you," Much teased. "I'm never sure before I say anything either. I wasn't sure - didn't think about it - till you said last night you were falling, and I thought, oooh yeah, that's what that is," he grinned at her again, pressing his nose into her warming cheek. He couldn't imagine her blushing around anyone but him. "Of course that's what this is. Mmm, your fingers feel good. This feels good. I love you," he said, trying out the words again, the feeling of the smile going all the way into his heart.

She curled herself into him, climbing into his lap so she could really look into his eyes. Her stomach was bouncing around and her heart pounding at the sound of those words. She was not used to a man saying those things without wanting something else in return for those words. "Don't just say it on my account," She bit down on that bottom lip again, searching his eyes for clarity. She didn't just jump into things half-heartedly, he should have figured that out by now.
