Once Jamie had talked with everyone else, and they'd agreed on a day, the Kemp house had leaped into action. The place had gotten a clean, and Lena had been cooking for a couple hours. The whole house smelled great, and Jamie could smell it coming up the stairs from his room. He'd been picking things out at random and holding them up to himself, tossing them on the bed almost as quickly.

Roxanna let herself in and dropped onto the bed, going through the things that had been tossed aside. "It'll be OK, grasshopper," she said soothingly. "They're not coming to see what you've worn. They're coming to see you. Come on, come here." Jamie made a slightly helpless face in the mirror, but turned to look at her anyway.

Roxanna cast a critical eye at him, then dug through the pile. "Come on, put these on," she told him, throwing a shirt and pants at him. Jamie obliged, and she nipped out to find his pomade.

Once he was dressed, she came at him with a comb, smoothing it back and giving it a little shape. "Nice," she said, grinning behind him in the mirror.

"I feel like I might barf," Jamie admitted.

"Just means that you care about how it goes," she said gently. "Come on, give me a hug and let's go downstairs. Your men should be arriving soon."

	"I heard that, Dad," Jamie said, looking over at him, amused. "I mean...you're not wrong," Roxanna said to Phantasos. "He's pretty good. I mean, if you like living with awesome people." Jayden turned and beamed at David, taking his hand momentarily. "Just keep telling me and I'll keep it up," he promised.

"Good to know," Phantasos grinned.

Thomas watched the four of them, enthralled by their interaction. He was still a father, however, and he had to do his fatherly thing. "So you're all comfortable with this?" he asked, because if he didn't he would hate himself.

"I'm still coming to terms with it a bit," David admitted. "Because it's totally different from anything I've ever been a part of. I mean, I'm on board to try and make it work, it just might take a little time for me to get acclimated."

"And that's fair," Jamie agreed, nodding. "And you and I have already talked, Dad, because when it comes to you I am an open fucking book. So you know I'm OK."

Roxanna looked at the other three who were sitting around the table, and briefly thought about picking her fingernails with her knife. (She decided against it, she wasn't quite done eating.) She caught Jamie's eye and winked instead.

"Yes, that too," she agreed, pointing for emphasis. "I know y'all are going to work your way up to maybe sleeping in a pile of men, but he's my person. So. Yes."

Jamie cocked his head quizzically.

"It's from Grey's Anatomy," she explained. "Ride or die, drop everything and I'll be there for you. That kind of thing. You're my brother, Jayden is my person."

"Right?" David agreed. "I started salivating almost as soon as I walked in."

	Jamie snorted and accidentally got water up his nose. It burned and he went into the kitchen to try and blow his nose. "You're so odd," Roxanna told him fondly. "It's true, though," Jamie said. 	Roxanna pointed at Lena, as if to say, 'See, you get me'. "I mean, I play with my whole body, and so do you. Thus: I eat a lot. Plus, life's too short to skip dessert."
