As the sun started to set, Gerald began to stir. Most of the family had been in house all day, but now they'd all gone out. All, that is, except the youngest brother. Gerald liked Jayden. Sometimes he left cookies out absentmindedly, and Gerald would always take one or two back up to the attic with him. And whenever he played music, it would drift up to the attic, and Gerald would smile. It was lovely, listening to Jayden play.

But there was something about Jayden that was a tinge off. There always seemed to be something locked away behind his eyes, like words were knocking at his teeth, trying to get out. And Gerald liked his family, he just wanted to help. He shrunk himself down and changed into a fly, and he flew downstairs and into the house proper. He found Jayden, and he alighted on the boy's shoulder.

'From this sunset til the next, no falsehoods shall pass your lips.'

He focused his will on those words, and a puff of something rose and then fell onto Jayden. Like mist settling, it was there and then gone. Gerald flew back up to the attic, changed back into his human form, and untangled his earbuds. There was a Let's Play series he hadn't watched yet, and the night was still young.

Jamie snorted, and then jumped when his phone went off. He pulled it out and read the text. "She wants to know if the tension in the room has strangled anyone, if Jayden's still saying everything that comes into his head, and...ooh, if she should bring home doughnuts." He started typing back. "Almost, yes, and the answer to that is 'always'."

"I think that's a good idea," David agreed, pulling bean bag chairs into a pile in the middle of the room.

Jaydem was thrilled David was agreeing to this instead of being worried about it. He had been thinking about something like this for ages, and today he had just felt brave enough to say it. He helped David with the bags and then jumped into one. "Huzzah! Oh fuck, I forgot the remote."

"I gotcha," Phantasos went to grab the remote and handed it to his friend. "You didn't tell Roxanna about my...excitement, did you? She'll tease me for actual ever."

"I got boners in church all the time," Jayden said out of absolutely nowhere. "It was pretty weird."

	"No, but when I tell her about what happened later, and I probably will unless someone objects, she'll probably put the dots together," Jamie replied, looking up from his text and winking at Phantasos. 	"I wonder if you accidentally truth-serumed yourself, Jayden," Phantasos mused, watching Jayden reach out for David's hand. "Hmm? Oh yeah, you can tell her, it's fine. I was mostly kidding. "Sweet zombie jesus, I hope that's not actually a thing," David said, sinking down in a chair next to Jayden and squeezing his hand.

"I was gonna say, I usually tell her everything anyway," Jamie answered. "And yeah, I'm...I'm fine. All my brain cells are firing at once, but I'm pretty good. Sure, it feels a little like a tightrope walk, but I know there's a net down there too."

	Phantasos reached out and laced his fingers into Jamie's, smiling softly at him. "Absolutely always a safety net. Should we go cuddle?" Jayden leaned his head against David's hip, feeling calm and secure with Jamie's warm body beside him. Phantasos curled up beside Jamie, but not before grabbing the remote back and flicking the movie on. Sure cuddling was nice, but something in the background was probably a good idea.

About fourty-five minutes into the movie, and after a few position changes, Jayden sighed happily. "This is really good," he said quietly. "I feel so safe."

	Phantasos, who was still on the outside, but spooning David, was practically asleep. Ghostbusters was great and all, but he was in a pile of beautiful boys and it was relaxing and enticing and perfect. Instead of saying anything, he just ran his hand across David's hip gently.
