Who: Aloysia, Orpheus
When: Backdated to Feb 28, after rehearsal
What: Aloysia is a bitch flirts
Where: Wherever they have orchestra rehearsals

It had been a long day of rehearsals and while many other musicians were tired, Aloysia felt energized. It always gave her such a high to sing in front of others, especially when she was at her top performance. She smiled, rather pleased with herself as she collected her purse. She chatted with various other musicians before noting their lead violinist had headed toward the backstage. She bid a hasty farewell to whoever it was she was talking to (she thought maybe it was one of the violists, she honestly didn't know or care) and hurried to the other entrance to the backstage dressing rooms.

Being the prima dona, Aloysia had insisted on having her own private dressing room. It was only fair! She quickly ducked into her room and sat down at her vanity, watching in the mirror for Orpheus to pass by.

When she saw him she turned around and called out, "That was an exquisite performance today," she complimented with a brilliant smile. "I do adore your technique."

---------------------------

Orpheus was a beautiful soul. He felt his emotions erupt through every part of him, so his music was an extension of his inner being. It was hard to contain them himself sometimes. He became so engrossed in the moment that he was in tears, physically shaken. Aloysia had caught him in such a moment. He paused, but her words were just words. He had to wipe the tears from his face to see hers and know how to respond.

Most Greeks were arrogant (and perhaps he was too in his desire to keep the woman in his life that he'd loved so deeply). He'd been arrogant to think he could usurp death. He very shyly expressed his thanks to her compliment, but he did not feel the need to dwell in it. His music was his soul, not a circus performance. He bowed softly to exit before she could say anything else.

---------------------------

At the realization that he was crying, Aloysia stood up quite suddenly from her seat. Although she could be quite callous to other peoples feelings and wants and desires, she felt an alarmingly high level of concern for the man. She had had her eye on him, even if he didn't want her to. Aloysia was very aware of who he was and who his little darling was, but that was no matter to her. Because she had found him quite pleasing to look at, she could have concerns for his feelings! And he was crying! She didn't want to see this beautiful man crying!

"Wait!" she said, following quickly behind him. She reached out and grabbed his arm and spoke in her native German-Austrian language without even thinking, "Was ist los mit dir?" She shook her head, waving her hand. "Forgive me, it is still hard to kick my mother tongue." She looked him over with concern, attempting to lead him into her dressing room, "What is wrong? Why don't you come sit for a moment?"

--------------------------

Orpheus tried to hold his composure, but his very eyes alone contained such sadness. He took her kind gesture as one of real concern, and therefore found no reason to deny her of her simple kindness. He took a seat, wiping his eyes of the tears that seemed to fall even when he commanded them to stop, his body still in a tremble. "I am sorry, most people try to worship my feet after a performance, and I get rather tired of their false adorations." Most people saw him as an idol, and Orpheus was no idol.

--------------------------

Believe it or not, Aloysia could show some amount of genuine concern for others. More often than not, it was for those she had an interest in. Most others were just ignored or scoffed at. For now, Orpheus held her attention. And definitely not in an innocent way. She waved a hand and sat next to him. She took one of his hands in her and patted the top with her other hand. She didn't understand why he didn't want people to love him. Aloysia adored the attention she received after a performance. "How do you know it is insincere? People come to see us, they applaud our wonderful performance, our hard work. We deserve recognition for a job well done. You are the best violinist I have ever had the privilege to work alongside, I can understand why the audience would want to love you."

"I don't need applause or to be adored. I just play what is inside of me." It wasn't for the amusement of others, but to mourn or rejoice what came from his heart. If others felt that pain or happiness then it was a seed of connection he had with the rest of the world. The moment he lost that connection and became a circus show, then he was not the artist he'd thought. It was never about favoritism. "I don't want their love, I want them to see what I see, feel what I feel."

Aloysia observed him as he spoke, continuing to gently pat his hand. Maybe it was insincere on her part, maybe it wasn't. Either way, she felt such a surge of electricity as she touched him. Here was one of the most infamous musicians of all time and all she could think of was how much she wanted to love and adore him, and to be loved and adored by him in return. For now, she let him speak because clearly he needed to get it off his chest. "Then play and care not what others say!" she exclaimed after he finished speaking. They could love him all they wanted, but he had to accept it the way it was. They were famous in their own right, and people would love them no matter his feelings on the matter.

He felt his heart swell again. "There is one I sing and play for." But it was not her, it was his darling Eurydice. He looked down at his hands which Aloysia had, and he quietly pulled them away. "I should go," he couldn't be here, not with her. He should have sensed she had other intentions to pine after him in her man-eating trap, but he just suddenly felt guilty for leaving Eurydice alone.

While there was some truth to her words, Aloysia always had an underlying motive. In this case, she wanted to make him hers because he was so divine. The Orpheus, literally at her fingertips. Suddenly his hands were gone and she clasped her own together, his words sinking in. Eurydice. UGH! When would it be Aloysia's turn to be loved and adored? It wasn't fair!. One might say she was jealous of the old Greek nymph. Certainly, Eurydice was pretty, but she was nothing compared to Aloysia. "Oh, please don't go!" she pleaded. "I only mean well and I truly do love your music. It's quite literally divine."

Orpheus had tried to brush her off kindly, but she was clinging to him in a way he wasn't comfortable with. "You deserve someone who's heart is free. Mine I gave away a long time ago. No pretty songbird will ever replace her." He was a little cruel, hoping she would leave him be. "Find yourself a worthy musician, I play for no one else but Eurydice." It wasn't Eurydice's beauty that he loved, it was her heart.

He stood with a bow and proceeded to leave her in her own thoughts. Maybe she was not used to rejection, but Orpheus would never be disloyal.

Aloysia did not take rejection well. She looked at him, completely wounded and sunk into her chair as she pouted. "You say find someone worthy as though it is easy. There are very few in this world," she said as she reached over and shut her door with a loud slam. She simply sat and sulked for a long time after that because she hated rejection. In her eyes it meant she was inadequate. She hated feeling inadequate.
