WHO: Greed and Theseus
WHEN: November 3
WHERE: Sports Bar
WHAT: Theseus gets sucked back to NY after two weeks, spends a day straightening Greed out before heading back to Greece for his daughter.
WARNING: Greed freaking out
Once Theseus realized that his two weeks were up and he'd materialize back to New York, he promised Zoe that he would return after two days. It gave him time to see Nike and pound Greed's face in. He left her in Greece so they could spend another few weeks there before he took her home. She wasn't completely stable yet, they both needed some more time to recuperate. He had found his backbone at least with the time they had spent, and it was enough to enforce some fatherly rage.
Greed was sitting in a sports bar when he got the text from Theseus that he was on his way. Greed downed that shot and asked for three more, his hands all sweaty in anticipation of seeing his would be future father-in-law. He looked up to the tv which was flashing a documentary on seals. One of those fat baby seals scooted into the picture and he instantly thought of his girlfriend and her fucking fat eyes. He sloshed down two from his shot trio and barked at the screen when it was quickly turned to football. "HEY!" he barked at the bar tender, "TURN IT BACK! I was watching the fucking seals!" He jumped out of his seat and grabbed the man by the shirt collar. "I want to see what happens! Turn it back!" He was ready for a war over the damn seals.
The bartender shoved him back and attempted to unclasp Greed's hands. "It gets eaten by sea lion!" he fumbled for the water sprayer and pointed it at Greed's face and let it go. By the time Theseus stepped in, Greed was drenched in water and screaming profanities. He joined in and pulled Greed away and outside from the fight. To Greed's surprise, instead of just dragging him out into the ally, he got a swift fist in his face. "Fuck!" He yelled when he felt the impact, his cheek red and his head spinning. There had been a lot of force in that punch, and it was going to leave a mark. He looked at the boots and scaled his eyes up to see his aggressor. "Shi----t..." he said feeling the fire in Theseus' eyes. He looked behind him thinking Zoe would be there with him.
"Where's Zoe?!" A question that landed him another punch, this time feeling the air literally escape his lungs, and he gasped before going down on the ground. Greed might be bigger and full of muscle, but Theseus was pissed, and the power of his Greek heritage came out. Poseidon himself would have been proud had he witnessed that kind of aggression. "You don't get to ask about her." Theseus loomed over him as Greed started to try and stand. Theseus pinned the Sin's hand down with his foot. "You're going to listen to me, and you're not going to speak until I'm done." He moved his foot when Greed looked like a struck child that was about to get a spanking.
"You crossed the line." Greed opened his mouth to speak and Theseus wagged his finger. "No," he said firmly, "You will get to speak when I am finished." Greed closed his mouth. He'd been running from this lecture. He hadn't wanted it the day he dropped Zoe off, and he definitely didn't want it now.
"I will decide when you get to see her again. You've swindled her time and time again with your mistakes. You're good at that. Not this time. You are going to have to grovel to me before I even let you say two words to her. I need to know that she isn't some object for your mantle that you only take down when you want to have her. I trusted you, which was pretty rich considering after your sister tried to destroy me I had no use for your kind." The street light from behind was a beacon behind Theseus, and Greed seemed sober enough to feel the gravity of his words. For a long time now he'd looked up to Theseus as a father type figure. It was new and exciting. But now, he was seeing that it wasn't always just fun and games, Theseus couldn't just be a friend. He was being the parent now. "I'm not letting you drag Zoe down with you. You lost her when you left. You lied to me when I thought you loved her enough, but now I see how twisted you really are. You're never going to love her like a normal human being."
Greed looked away at that moment, as if guilty. He didn't like feeling guilty, and his face soured. Theseus crouched so that he was eye level with Greed. "Do you know how I've handled being wronged in the past?" Greed shook his head. "I killed my son for a whole lot less." The words wavered in his voice a little, but maybe it would give Greed a bit of insight. He wasn't the only badass when it came to revenge. The Greeks practically thrived off of it. "If you wrong me again, I won't hesitate to do the same to you." There was a raging storm in those words, because it told Greed that he looked at him as he would a son. Hippolytus had been just an unfortunate victim to his wife's lust. It had been a useless death, but Greed's would not.
Theseus stood back up, offering a hand for Greed to take so he could stand. While Theseus had given him the floor to speak, there was nothing he could say.
