Who: Andromache, Hector
When: Monday, after school
Where: Outside Andie's school
What: SURPRISE!

Today had been like any other day. Andromache awoke, showered, and went to work. Even with the mass population of immortals hanging around, life had become rather predictable. Of course, mortal children made her life increasingly stressful on a daily basis but what did she expect from being a high school teacher? She had raised four boys of her own in her prime, she knew what teenage boys were thinking. And she had been a teenage girl once herself, so she knew what girls their age thought about. It wasn't always the best idea cramming a bunch of hormonal teenagers in a room together all day long. Even with her own maternal instincts she couldn't always keep the peace in her classroom. Today had been one of those days. Monday's were never easy, especially for teachers who had recuperated over the weekend only to rinse and repeat the next week.

Like any other Monday, students had shuffled in and out all day with varying degrees of attentiveness and snark. By the time the last bell rang Andromache was at her wits end. She waved the last students out her door and then sank into the nearest seat with a loud groan. She was waiting for a student who had planned to come by for a recipe Andromache had promised. A few minutes passed by before the girl appeared in the doorway. Andromache stood up and went to the cabinet where she kept all of the recipe's and books. She found the copy she had made and handed it over, "You can keep that if you like. I have the original."

The girl smiled and nodded, "Thanks, Miss Tros. My mom says thanks in advance."

Andromache smiled, "Tell her you're welcome for me. And enjoy." She waved the girl off before cleaning up whatever messes hadn't been picked up. For the most part, her students were good about cleaning up after themselves, but they always missed something. Monday's and Friday's were the worst days.

It took about fifteen minutes for her to finish putting dishes and ingredients away, then she grabbed her things and locked the door behind her. There were only a few students left when she made her way out the front of the school. She stopped briefly to dust off some flour from her shirt. "Go home, guys," she said to some students a few feet away. There was no point sticking around when they likely had homework or other after school events. She waited until the students left before heading down the steps.

Her warmth was so familiar, even if he hadn't had it in so long. He felt that strong exterior crack and hold her tight. She shed no tears, because she was as strong a woman as he remembered. Finally, he was able to gather the words to say, feeling they sounded too flat. No apology could ever atone for what she had been through. He blamed himself for the nightmares she face, and their son. He stepped back to see her face.

Andromache let the moment sink in. It had been too long. They had been torn from eachother before their lives could really start. She had imagined she would break down and cry, but she felt much too giddy to shed even tears of joy. "Oh, Hector," she said into his chest. "I've missed you so much."

It was a bit surreal seeing her again in such a different setting than the last. The last time he spoke had been before marching off into battle with Achilles. He hadn't thought that those would be the last words he'd speak to her, and yet they'd been very foreboding.

He touched her face for a second, expecting her to evaporate into thin air as he quickly moved his hand away. "I hadn't expected to find you." He still thought perhaps it was just false hope.

Hector's last day on earth had been her most devastating day. And she had had to live on afterward. Even though she and Achilles were civil now, with Hector showing up she felt a strong need to keep them as far from each other as possible.

Andromache looked confused, "But didn't the Saint find you and send you? I had someone looking for you." She thought surely Anthony had been the one to tell him Andromache's whereabouts

"Saint? What Saint?" He seemed confused. How long had she been looking? How had they been within the same state and never felt a thing? "I only just found Paris a few weeks ago. I hadn't a clue until he ran his mouth off." Something neither of them were too surprised about. Unfortunately, for Hector he couldn't just ignore his baby brother and his bad choices, no matter how much he disagreed with them. This time at least it had resulted in an unforeseen outcome.

Andromache looked confused, "He's called Saint Anthony. I hired him months ago to look for you. I thought maybe he told you where to find me." When he revealed it was in fact Paris who told him, she shook her head a little, "Paris told you? I thought he was too busy fawning all over Helen to notice anyone else. Not that I'm not happy he wasn't," she said. She shook her head, "None of that matters. What does matter is we've found each other. It's a good thing." She searched his face, "Right?"

"When Paris isn't entranced by Helen, he seems to have a decent head on his shoulders. I didn't say he didn't make bad decisions. He still runs his mouth..." He paused. His little brother was a headache, but he was still his brother, and in some horrible way Hector felt he still had to keep an eye over him---to protect him. "He's lost." What had happened to him had rattled him, and talking about Paris right now at least made up for the fact he still had no words to explain himself for leaving Andromache behind as he did. The longer he looked at her, the longer he realized how guilty he still felt.
