Who: Hercules and Hebe
What: The two lovebirds are still having some bumps in the road with Hercules' trust
When: Wednesday night
Where: Hebe's place of business
Warnings: TBD

His father had come back into town without so much as a word. While Hercules would rather it stay that way, there was a lot of hostility to his father for how things had ended up. His madness only further grappled him since the ghosts of his children and the life he'd once had that had been destroyed. There was a part of Hercules that was still torturing himself for his earthly deeds. Hebe had been kind, and tried so hard to help him. She'd sat with him, talked to him and let him weep. All he'd done in return was keep that wall so blocked that she couldn't get through.

When they'd first been married all those centuries ago on Mt. Olympus, the same had happened. He'd had a hard time letting go of the man and giving in to the fact that he was one of them. Now the warrior had returned only to be back in that same holding place as before. Hebe, however deserved better than that. He'd decided to visit her, with a single white rose in hand. He had a hard time wooing women, and even though she was his wife, he wasn't sure where they stood. So, this was a surprise to them both. It was his foot forward.

While Hercules was apprehensive about their fathers return, Hebe had been openly and very publicly happy about it. She couldn't wait to see Zeus and Hera again. She had never been personally wronged by them and even though they had each done some very horrible things, they were still her mom and dad. She loved them and wanted to see them. She understood where Hercules was coming from, but she couldn't just ignore them.

She was working late, putting the finishing touches on a plan for a wedding she was planning. She hadn't seen Hercules as much as she would have liked, but he had been so distant she didn't know whether he even wanted to see her. He had seemed so indifferent about them and she honestly didn't know whether they were together again or just existing in the same vicinity. When her assistant told her someone was there to see her she knew immediately it was Hercules. "Send him in," she said without looking up from her papers.

Hebe didn't greet him with the same warmth she had tried for before. He thought his own confusion had finally worn her down. She may have even deserted him mentally a while ago. He stepped forward, putting the rose in front of her, his face stoic as he spoke. "For you," he said quite simply. Hercules never did say much, but what he did try to say was always of importance. He never said more than needed.

It took a lot for Hebe to truly feel helpless. When it came to Hercules, she had tried and tried until she felt like she didn't have any other tactics. She had been there for him countless times. She had spilled her heart. She had loved him openly and had tried to be with him. Nothing seemed to work. She felt like there was nothing left to do but wait for him to either come around himself or give up and move on. Neither of them were good choices for Hebe.

She was so focused on her papers that she hadn't meant to be so distant. She was just so close to being finished. When he set down the rose she stopped working. She set down her pen and picked up the rose, a little smile on her face. She would have preferred red, the color of romance, but white would do. It meant something. Work could wait. "Thank you," she said quietly, smelling the rose. She didn't know whether he would let her kiss him or not, so she settled with standing up and kissing his cheek.

He touched his cheek where her sweet gesture stayed. "You tired?" Could he get her away from her paperwork for just a few minutes? He'd not made much of an effort before, but he was trying to come around and be a little more like the Hercules she married. A lot of years had been pushed between them. She'd watched him break down and that meant something to him.

Hebe didn't know what she could do these days. Whether she would be welcomed warmly or if he would push her away, literally and figuratively. She felt apprehensive about trying to move forward. He didn't talk the way she did. He didn't pour his heart out the way she did. But he had broken down in front of her, even if it hadn't been for her. That had brought back a lot of bad memories. "Yeah, actually I am. I guess this can wait a while," she gestured to the paperwork.

"Sorry I'm not me." Not the Hercules she wanted, he had some growing to do. Some grudges to let go of. It was difficult for him when he'd spent so much of his immortal life alone. He didn't intermingle too much with immortals, save Perseus. The rest of it was just him trying to get used to it. He stepped around behind her, his hands on her shoulders. She'd tried, and he had noticed. "Want to make things up to you."

Hebe pushed the papers away a few inches, though left them open. She needed to know where to start later. She nodded slowly. She wasn't going to say it was alright, because it wasn't. She had been trying very hard to remind him of how they used to be. That she wasn't to blame and still loved him like she always had. A little piece of her questioned whether she would end up hurt. Hebe tended to melt in his touch, and she was still the same. She turned around and wrapped her arms around his waist, leaning in against him without saying anything.
