"I don't know, but I vote that we try," Jesse replied. He pulled the keys to their SUV out of his pocket and tossed them to Isaiah, who was closest to the door leading to the garage. Isaiah caught them and was gone in a flash, the door slamming behind him before Richard had even finished turning around.
"Jay, get over here!" he shouted, wiping some blood out of his eyes. "If we're going to make a break for it, we need to do it now, while he can't throw objects. I'm not going to stick around and wait to see if he gets that power back."
Isaiah leaned on the horn outside, he'd driven the SUV around to the back of the house, leaping the curb and driving onto the lawn to get closer to the back door.He figured he'd be forgiven, all things considered. Jesse grabbed his brother's hands and dragged them toward the door, determined to put as much distance as possible between Richard and them.
