The moment Lil saw her older sister, she simply collapsed against her shoulder and sobbed. She knew Maddy would want answers, but she couldn't even form the words.

Considering the crap that had been heaped on her in the last few years alone, the fact that she was so shaken by this was saying something. Lil had worked so hard on just switching off so each new, horrible thing just elicited a shrug and a non-commital mumble. Finding both her parents crumpled on the floor with her mother possibly dead had broken through that bricked up wall and she couldn't stop now. All she could do was cry.

When her lungs hurt and her head ached and she could hardly breathe, Lil pulled back and wiped her red face. "I found them!" she managed to grit out. "Mom and Dad, they were just...on the floor in the kitchen and I don't know what happened!"
