The whole way over to Joey's, Nikkie couldn't stop twisting her fingers around and around. Joey was a good guy, Joey definitely wasn't fucking Poseidon who'd just suddenly disappear out of her life. Still. There was that niggling fear in the back of her mind that one of the best things in her life was about to crumble around her.

When the door opened, though, she smiled and made a turning motion with one hand. "You look fabulous," she told him, laughing. "JJ has excellent taste."

"That would be really great," Joey said with a grin. He loved both Nikkie and Xavier so much, he wanted them to know each other. Xavier was the kind of man who would kill for the people he loved if it meant keeping them safe. Joey respected him so much. "Oh god, I have no idea what to tell my parents. Have you told yours yet? Or V?"

"Ha, no," she said, sighing. "Mum will be simultaneously thrilled, and disappointed that another baby was born out of wedlock. It'll be more heavily thrilled, though. V will probably just shriek in my ear."

Joey had to try really hard not to laugh at the word 'wedlock'. At least he wasn't Poseidon, right? "V is going to be adorable," Joey said. "Okay, we should- Let's get something to eat, alright? Just spend time together?"

"Oh, most likely," she agreed. "A little cousin for Bernie. But yeah, I could definitely eat. Just...stay in and cuddle on the couch."
