"Good to know," she said, kissing Jamie's hair. "And yeah, we'll give him a lot of water. And he can get more from the ensuite bathroom if he needs some. I'm going to go dry him off and get him dressed. Will you bring the soup when it's done?"
Lena headed back into the bedroom and through to the ensuite. Thomas was waiting in the tub as the last of the water drained out. "Good timing," he mumbled to her and he attempted to give her a tired smile.
"I'm pretty good," she replied, moving towards him with a hug towel. "Muscles feeling any better?"
"Eve'ything hurts," Thomas acknowledged. "But I think I can stand up. Kinda." With Lena's help, she got him up and out of the bath and into the bedroom. Once Thomas was on the bed, she helped dress him in something loose because he was probably going to rip it off later.
"I warned Jamie about how bad this could get. I-I think it's probably best if we lock you in when the worst f it comes." She shooed him back into the bed and covered him with the blankets.
"Prob'ly," Thomas nodded. "Hungry."
"Jamie is bringing in some soup." Then she leaned forward and kissed him slowly, running his fingers through his hair. "I love you so much. I'm so sorry we didn't come sooner."
"Home now. Love you too." Even though he sounded weak, she could still feel the intent behind his words.
