Rosalind Elena 'Lena' Rainmayr ([info]sat_by_the_fire) wrote in [info]nevermore_logs,
Lena had wrapped Thomas in a blanket, both to try to stop him from shivering and to keep the smell from assaulting them in the car. She held Thomas against her and she could feel him shaking so violently, she was sure the rest of the occupants in the car could feel it too.

"We're going home, okay?" Lena said, kissing his dirty hair. She knew a hospital might be better, but he had clearly been injected with drugs and she didn't want to risk it ending up on his permanent record. He didn't seem to be too injured, and she hoped that meant they could just take care of him from their place. "I'll give you a bath."

Thomas nuzzled into her neck and he even chuckled a little at that. "Won't even be able to enjoy it."

"Probably not," Lena said, relief flooding her when Thomas made a joke. "Are you going to leave it to me, Jamie, or do you want to help."

"If it makes it better, I bathed you lots," Thomas half-slurred in Jamie's direction.
