When Padraig had contacted his sister to let her know what was going on with him and that he would be hiding at his farm house, he hadn't expected her to show up. He had been sitting at the table, idly sipping on some tea when Darerca came charging through the door, looking like she was ready to murder him. He was so startled, he jumped and the tea left in his cup went flying to relocate all over his shirt. "Fuck, Dee!"

"Jesus, look at you," she said, as if she could see the wounds all over him through his shirt.

"Wh-what are you doing here?" Perhaps it wasn't as polite as saying hello and offering her some tea, but really it was all he wanted to say at that point.

"Real nice there, Padraig. You've been scaring me for months, so I'm hardly going to not come when you tell me Lust was messing with you!" She grabbed the towel hanging on the oven door and tossed it to him.

"Right, well George is here." Apparently he expected that to send her back home to Valentia Island, but she stood her ground. "Like. He's in the next room." She still didn't budge. Instead, she rolled her eyes and yelled.

"Saint George! I'm here and you're going to have to deal with it!" To Padraig, she simply said, "there," as if that solved everything.

	George kept his expression carefully blank as he turned to Darerca. "Not everyone can follow the Teachings of Surak, it's true. Some people are just too illogical." Having gotten his pop culture reference in, George turned back to Padraig. "I know, Padraig, but just...promise you won't hurt yourself, yes? Or sell your soul, or anything else self-destructive?" Darerca just gave George a funny look, but Padraig snorted. Then he sighed and turned to his brother. "I couldn't have promised that a few days ago, but I can now. I'm starting to realise what happened because of Lust wasn't my fault thanks to both of you being here for me still. I just have to learn how to co-exist with Euterpe now that things have changed. I'll be alright."

	George reached across the table and gave Padraig's hand a squeeze. "And I'll be there for you through that too, you know. You aren't alone." He forced the next words out. "And Darerca is apparently going to be there for you too." Ugh. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)
