Who: Quetzalcoatl & Tezcatlipoca
What: Aztecs playing scary computer games (Yup.)
When: Monday night
Where: Quetz's place
Warnings: Aztecs, copious amounts of language and alcohol, TBD

The idea that something as mundane as a computer game could scare him just made Tezcatlipoca smirk to himself. Quetzalcoatl might be put off by things like that, but he was going to show the Serpent that pixels on a screen didn't scare him. He'd brought the bottles of tequila with him, as requested, and arrived at Quetzalcoatl's house. He did knock, because breaking in would probably just piss off Quetzalcoatl, and although he did like doing that, tonight seemed more of a 'get together and mock each other' sort of thing, as opposed to violence and bloodshed. (To start with, anyway.) And so he waited on the front steps.

Quetzalcoatl had queued up a new game file, ready and waiting for one irritating jaguar. The theme music played, deceptively peaceful. He gave his computer a wide berth nonetheless. Humans and their scary stories were proving surprisingly effective tonight.

"Well, look what the cat dragged in," he said, answering his door with a smile.

"Ha ha," Tezcatlipoca replied dryly, holding up the tequila. "Be nice to me, or you get no tequila." He stepped inside and put the bottles on the kitchen table, glancing over at the computer. "I still don't understand how this game managed to so unsettle you."

Quetzalcoatl grabbed the tequila happily. For all of Tezcatlipoca's (many, many, many) faults, he never skimped on getting the good booze.

"Storytelling has power," Quetzalcoatl said around a mouthful of his sandwich. "Anyway, just play it. But you have to turn the lights off."

"Well you don't have to tell me that, one could argue that's the reason we're still here," Tezcatlipoca replied, searching for the light switch and flipping it off. "Get over, I have no idea what I'm doing." He grabbed the other bottle for himself, taking a preemptive swig.

Quetzalcoatl perched on the chair next to Tezcatlipoca's and started explaining the controls, reaching over his shoulder to point.

"And here is the pause button in case you get scared and want to cry," Quetzalcoatl added. "The game will explain all this, just press play."

"You are not nearly as funny as you think you are," Tezcatlipoca said dryly. But he listened anyway, because he hated not knowing how to do something.

He took another swig of tequila and pressed play. "Alright, let's see what's so terrible about this."

"I'm hilarious," Quetzalcoatl said, settling in with his drink to watch Tezcatlipoca play. But he was probably going to have to stop talking, since a conversation with him would keep Tezcatlipoca from getting into the game. And Quetzalcoatl really, really wanted this stupid game to frighten his rival, at least a little.

Tezcatlipoca reached over and patted him on the head. "You keep telling yourself that, dear," he said absently, as the opening graphics of the game started to play.

"The heart is making me hungry," he added. "So far, I'm not seeing anything terribly frightening."

"Just shut up and wander around this Englishman's house," Quetzalcoatl groused.

Tezact: King Literal, because it will piss off Quetz. XD

"Is my character allowed to eat the Englishman?" Tezcatlipoca asked, curious. "Seriously, I'm hungry. And this house is so dark, how am I even supposed to see anything? Unless I secretly have cat eyes in the game."

"You are the Englishman," Quetzalcoatl said. "Everyone is white in video games, it's terrible. And now you know how annoying it is trying to find you at night."
