Hypnos had been feeling pretty down the past few weeks. Thea had gone off to follow her own path, and now his brother was living with him instead. He was pretty sure Fate was laughing at him somewhere, because this trade-off sucked.

But he still had to go to work, and he was. He just wasn't as bright as he was before, perhaps. Once he'd finished his shift, he waved goodbye to Cordelia and headed for his apartment, feeling very blah.

Charlotte had been on her way to visit Kat because she was in the neighbourhood after spending the night with her friend Brad. On the off chance Kat was at work, Charlotte planned to drop in and chatter at her.

Instead of finding Kat, she found someone coming out of the shop. "Oh sorry!" she said, moving out of the person's way. "Do...were you just inside the shop?" She figured even if the person was a customer, they might know Kat. A shop like Hecate's was fairly niche. "I was looking for Kat if she was in."

	"Ah, now Jamie I know," he said. "He's been in a few times. And yeah, I work here. I've known the owner a really long time." He smiled slightly, her bubbliness seemed to be infectious. "No, it's alright." Immediately she sort of wanted to hug him. She had had a rough few weeks too, but not as rough as her siblings had had it. She had just been a bystander and she hated that. "I haven't had the best time of it lately either. Just found out about you all because my sister was kidnapped by a demon-thing who then posed as my brother and beat up his girlfriend and it was all a mess. And apparently I'm just oversharing today."

	Charlotte was about to agree that demons were total assholes, when Hypnos mentioned his wife had left. "Oh shit," he said, looking shocked. "I think you need a drink or something. Up for it?" If he knew Jamie and worked with Kat, they probably would have mentioned him if he was an asshole. Besides, he seemed really nice. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Charlotte grinned and she turned on her heel to walk beside him. She didn't know this part of town all that well, but cafes and bars weren't that hard to find.

"Did your wife say why she was going?" she asked carefully. If he didn't want to talk about it, she assumed he would deflect the question, but sometimes people were just waiting for someone to ask about things like this and she figured she might as well bite the bullet.

	Hypnos shrugged. "Not really," he replied. "We were apart for a long time before I saw her again, so I'm actually more used to not having her around, sad as that is.
