WHO: Thomas, momentary Lena, and Jamie
WHAT: A misunderstanding
WHEN: Tuesday afternoon-evening
WHERE: Kemp apartment
Lena had only been gone for about an hour and a half, but when his phone went off and he saw her name flash on the screen, he was really pleased to hear from her. After the embarrassing morning they had had, he was ready to just put it all behind them.
And then, the moment he had picked up the phone, Lena had started speaking. "I don't want to see you again, Thomas. Ever. Don't fucking contact me again." And then the phone line went dead, and Thomas was left confused and shocked. After a second, he picked up the phone and dialled her number again because he was almost sure that he couldn't have heard what he just heard. It was a trick of his mind, right?
Either Lena wasn't answering, or she had blocked his number.
Distraught, he tossed the phone down and stared at it in shock. His Lena didn't want to see him again? Was it because she couldn't handle taking care of him any more? He had never asked her to and if that was it then he wished he had told her he didn't need help.
He felt numb when he curled up in his bed and pulled the covers back over his head. He had been left again, suddenly and without warning. He wasn't even all that surprised. Who would want to be with someone they had to take care of? All this was just a preview of what was to come when the Huntington's claimed him.
He was going to be alone forever.
As the hours crawled by, Thomas knew he should leave his room, maybe make dinner for Jamie if Lena wasn't here to do it. He couldn't be bothered, however. He just lay there with the blanket over his head, waiting to see if someone would come to find him.
Against his will, he started to cry softly. He didn't want to be lonely again, but he couldn't blame Lena, really. He wasn't worth it.
