He poured her a glass of whiskey and set it on the table. "There's a place that delivers late, makes the best cheeseburgers I've ever had. I'll have them bring some by." He punched the number into his phone and ordered the food.
Her words made him smile. "I think I grew up while none of us were looking, Mutter," he said. "And you'll never look old. But I hope you're proud, I've been setting up networks in the city. It was easier than I thought it'd be."
He took the balls of opium from her, careful not to drop them. "Danke," he said, smiling. "I haven't smoked in...ages, actually." He did have an antique opium pipe in a box in his bedroom, though.
