WHO: Thomas, Jamie and Serenity [Nerd]
WHAT: Having nice family chats with no yelling nope.
WHEN: Thomas' birthday, but set before he posted and before the family dinner. Noonish.
WHERE: Kemps!
WARNINGS: Possibly not very nice subject matter, but relatively tame!
Thomas knew Serenity was coming over, but he didn't expect to open the door to her holding a present in his hands. "Happy birthday," she said, looking quite anxious as she shook the present around in his general direction. It wasn't hard to know why either, considering the last time they had been in the same place together he had screamed at her for rather a long time.
"Come in, come in," Thomas stood aside so she could move past him. "You remembered my birthday? Wow!"
"Oh! No...no, I saw it on your Facebook," she admitted, instantly turning red. Thankfully Thomas just laughed.
"That make sense! You can take a seat if you'd like. Anything to drink?" He hadn't taken the present from her and so she placed it on his kitchen counter and pointed at it.
"'s for you," she said, chewing on her lip. "Uhm...coffee? I like it with-"
"Two sugars and so much milk it's basically coffee-flavoured milk?" he said with a grin. She just nodded, taken aback. "I remember some things."
"Better than me," Serenity sighed, obviously feeling overwhelmed. "Is uhm...Jamie here?"
"He's in his room. I'll get him in a second, I just wanted to see you for a second first. Say I was sorry for yelling and...look, I'm still having trouble getting over finding out who you are and knowing you just left us. But I will get over it, alright?" Holding grudges wasn't something that interested Thomas, and he really did want to have a good relationship with Jamie's mother, especially for Jamie's sake. Serenity had been such an important person in his life anyway. He didn't want to just throw that away because he was upset, however legitimate that upset was. He smiled and then he said, slightly awkwardly. "Uhm...hug on it?"
Feeling like the ice had been broken a little, Serenity let out a laugh before stepping into his arms for a hug.
"Good stuff! Now I'll flick this on..." Thomas turned the coffee machine on and then he ushered Serenity into the living room before heading to knock on Jamie's door. "Serenity's here, Jamie!"
