WHO: Erica, Miranda, Kat, Cordelia
WHEN: Friday night
WHERE: The family home in Philadelphia
WHAT: Family dinner
There was a part of Erica that missed this energy when all the girls were in the house. It didn't seem very long ago that they'd all been children (and then rambunctious teenagers) and if she wanted to find them she only needed to go to their bedrooms. But now they were young women out in the world, navigating all the tricky situations that came with it. But she had faith in her daughters. They had the strength and kindness of their parents and she'd noted in them the devious ease of their grandfather. Thankfully Erica liked to think she and Manuel were more informative on who the girls had become.
"Dinner's still going to be another half hour," Erica said as she came out of the kitchen, her glass of wine in hand. "Your father has kicked me out of the kitchen because I'm annoying him too much while he's trying to cook."
Miranda was curled in the windowseat with her own glass of wine and she smiled at her mother's words. Erica had come to the city to pick the girls up and drive them the hour and a half home, and Miranda was grateful for it. It was always nice to come home and she wasn't overly fond of driving herself.
