It was a good thing that she'd given her notice, considering how often she didn't go into work. She was used to coming and going where she liked, so she knew the job as editor would suit her better. And she had plenty of contacts to make it work. But she'd needed the distance. Europe always did her good. It had a longer history, something that soothed her spirit and made her more at ease.
She'd stopped at Belfast first, trying to convince the violin's owners to donate it to a museum rather then auction it off. But they were stubborn and greedy and she wasn't sure how well her words had worked. After she'd followed Patrick to his farm, and it worked to make herself stronger. The thing with Lucifer was tearing at her, so the distance was nice. She'd left Ella with Jacob, needing to focus on herself rather then let her daughter distract her. Soon Ella would be old enough for travel and to learn to understand her mother's oddities.
She'd woken early to watch the sun rise. It was a calming place, and she could feel the history in every corner. It was almost a tangible thing, and when she closed her eyes she could almost smell bay leaves. She always got that when something was old, and a lot of memories were tied up into it. But now she leaned against the door frame to watch the sun. Slowly her cracks were mending and she'd be strong enough to deal with Lucifer again.
But rather then think of that she hummed a light tune under her breath. She'd see about meeting her sister in Paris to help her deal with the loss of the dancer, but right now Clio just focused on herself.
