A bit nervous, Rose found parking near Victor's place before walking to the building. She still felt a lot of guilt, and she couldn't tell if Aislinn was just being nice about not hating her, or if it was the skin. It hadn't really been fair, asking Aislinn to marry her with such a chip on the scale but it hadn't stopped her.

But she pushed it aside as she knocked on Victor's door. She could use her key, but she only did so in emergencies. She afforded Victor privacy. When he opened the door she smiled at him, then kissed his cheek. "Hi you. How was the weekend?"

She chuckled. "Our bloodtypes don't match. I can't ask you for a kidney." She shook her head. "I'm engaged." She grinned and ducked her head before looking at him. "I asked Aislinn over the weekend. I wanted to tell you first, that and ask you if you still had any of Sarah's things." She folded her hands. "She can't be with me, which is kind of painful, but I want part of her to be there. So I was wondering if you'd mind if I wore her dress. If you still have it." With a smile she set her fingers on his hand. "And I will understand if you say no. Don't answer because I'm me. I want you to be okay with this."

Despite the fact that it hardly mattered, Victor was about to ask how she knew their bloodtypes didn't match. Though he realised it probably had something to do with one of his dramatic hospital stays as he had no doubt needed transfusions both times.

And then she steered his mind away from it completely anyway. "Rose!" he exclaimed, a grin spreading wide on his face. "That's wonderful!" he went over to hug her again. "Congratulations!"

There was a stab of dull pain when Rosalind mentioned Sarah. He missed her every day. But Victor wasn't the type to hoard Sarah's things to himself. The pain was from grief which he knew Rose shared. "Of course you can wear her dress. It's what she would want. I am so thrilled for you both!"

She laughed at the hug and returned it. She was glad he had agreed. "Thank you. I haven't told Mom yet. I like hearing." She knew her mother would be excited. "We haven't really set a date yet though. This was more important."

Smiling she let him go. "And you're going to be my best man. I'm thinking of asking Kat to be in the wedding party too. How is she by the way? You should come by for dinner again."

"Yes, Mom is going to go hypersonic," he grinned at her. "Come on, we can go get the dress. I have a few more things for you too." He stood and offered her a hand so he could pull her into his bedroom. Sarah's things were safely tucked away in his walk-in closet.

"Best man?! I would be honoured, Rose. I am pretty sure Kat would be too. She's- we'd love to come for dinner." He didn't want to talk abotu Valentine's Day considering he could hardly explain Eros-induced dementia.

	Laughing she rose. "She's only been after this for the last year or so. She'll probably start planning when I tell her." Not that she minded. It'd take her mind off things and it would make her mother happy. "I'll ask her when I see her. And I'll ask Aislinn when we have time for dinner." With a smile she sat down on the edge of the bed. "That sounds perfect, just a second-" Victor disappeared into his closet and when he returned he was carrying a box and Sarah's wedding dress, which was wrapped in plastic.

"Here we go. It might be a good idea to take it to a professional to make sure it's not going to fall apart," he said, trying not to be emotional upon looking at the dress. He sat beside Rose and sighed a little as he placed the dress in Rose's lap. "She looked beautiful in it. You will too."

	She set her hands on the dress and with a smile ran her fingers along the details. "She really did. And I'll do that." Smiling she nudged victor. "Thank you. I'll give it back after the wedding. Mom'll be thrilled to see it again I know that much." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"You don't have to give it back," Victor said gently. "It's just hanging in my closet. Unless you don't want it with you, I think it's probably better hanging in yours. You know...being a happy reminder instead of a bittersweet one." It was up to Rose, however. He wouldn't argue if she still wanted to return it.

He eased the lid off the shoe box in his hands. "Sarah put aside a couple of things after our wedding. She said she was keeping them so she could give them to you when you got married. I'm...I'm really sorry it's me giving them to you instead of her."

She smiled. "I'd love to keep it Victor. I just didn't want to take it from you either. But you are right. Happy memories tend to be a bit better." She straightened out a fold in the skit and smiled. She knew Sarah would be happy.

"Oh," she teared up a bit, just knowing Sarah had been preparing. "Oh no don't be sorry." She gave a smile. It still means the same, knowing she had this for me."

"You're not taking anything from me, Rose. It's just time." He reached out to give her shoulder a squeeze.

"She was very adamant you would be able to get married; that the laws would change. I'm glad she was right. She put aside her garter because it made her laugh," he pulled it out of the box. It was blue and frilly and precisely something that would have amused Sarah endlessly.

"Well of course not, she just believed it would be," Victor nodded. "There's a few other things in here too, but I- One of them is from me. And you don't have to take it, but-" He fished around in the box until he found it.

When he pulled his hand back, he was holding a beautiful, diamond ring. "It's her engagement ring. She was buried with her wedding band but once she started working undercover she hardly wore this any more. I found it in our nightstand after the funeral. I thought...well if anyone should have it, it's you."

She smiled still to the knowledge. "Eternal optimist. Always sticking up for me." She looked up as he went through the box before giving a gasp at the ring.

"Are you sure?" Gently she took the ring. She remembered Sarah showing it to her, so happy and bright. "I mean, I would love this. IT would be perfect, but only if you're okay with this." She looked at Victor. "All of this, it's wonderful Victor. And strange as it will sound closing chapters isn't always bad."

	She set the garter back in the box before placing the ring in it as well.She'd given Aislinn one and would ask her girlfriend if she'd min if Rose wore this one. "Thank you.
