Who: Datura & Jacob Grimm
What: Chance meetings and stories!
When: Wednesday afternoon
Where: ...Coffee place? (Behold my not-cleverness)

Ever since her talk with Victor, and he'd told her what he planned to do, she felt the least she could do was get out and about, be more of a person and less of a homebody. Today was nice enough to be out and about, for her to take a walk and maybe get a cup of tea. There was a cafe not far from Victor's house that made a lovely cup of chamomile.

Unwrapping her scarf and stepping into the cafe, she breathed in the scents of jasmine and lavender, the former making her a bit homesick. She missed India almost every day, and even though she knew it didn't do any good to dwell, she couldn't help it. So she ordered the jasmine tea instead, settling her skirt around her as she found a chair next to the window.

Datura looked up from her tea and smiled. "Please," she said softly, gesturing to the seat next to her. He seemed nice, and she did like meeting new people.

"I'm Damali," she said. "What's your name?"

Jacob sat and he smiled widely, even if he had no idea who Damali was. "My name is Jacob Grimm," he said, offering a hand once he was seated. He knew this woman was an immortal so he could give his real name.

She sat up a little straighter and smiled. "The storyteller?" she asked, interested. "I've read some of your tales. I'm called Datura, I think I just got so accustomed to my alias."

"The storyteller," he said with a nod. Really he was more the researcher and Wil did most of the writing, but he was certainly involved. He loved nothing more than stories.

"Datura," Jacob smiled then, pleased to meet a new drug. He had an acquaintance with some of them, and though his usual drug of choice was opium, new experiences were never to be scoffed at. "Very pleased to meet you."

Let's try posting the *whole* comment this time...

"Namaste," she said, pressing her palms together in front of her chest and inclining her head. She sipped her tea and settled further into her (very comfortable) chair. "So what brings you out?" she asked. "Apart from the fine day."

"I like to see if I can come across any stories, and it appears I found one," he said with a wide smile.

It took her a moment to realize he was talking about her. "Mine?" she asked, surprised. "I suppose I could tell you some, but it's not very interesting, at least I don't think so. An old woman's travels."

"Everyone has a story, and it's always interesting," he said easily. "I love collecting them. Though if you would rather not share, I understand."

"No, it's not that, it's simply...no one has ever really asked," she said. "Apart from my nephew. But I can tell you a tale or two, if you like. It all starts in India-have you ever been to New Delhi, Mr. Grimm?"

"I haven't, sadly," Jacob explained. "Call me Jacob. And I really would love to go. Continue?"

"Jacob, then," she said, nodding. "I was...born, for lack of a better term, in New Delhi, in the Gauri Shankar Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. In the midst of prayers and incense and dance, I opened my eyes and felt nothing but bliss. I joined the dancing, once I found my feet, and it was...like nothing I have felt before or since. They partook of me, and worshiped, and they were happy."

It was breathtaking, the way she told the tale. Without realising it, he had leaned forward with his elbows on the table and his chin in his hands. "That's...beautiful," he whispered.
